Wow, is it October already? Where did the time go? Only two more months until Christmas - that's a freaky thought! (I need to get cracking on my Christmas shopping!)
I have decided to use October as my NaNoWriMo* month this year. November is the "official" month, but with Thanksgiving and several family birthdays taking place in November, I know I'd never get it done in time. (It also has one fewer day than October, so I'm milking this month for the extra day, lol.) Once I know who my characters are and what they look like, I intend to post some pictures of them here.
*For those of you not in-the-know "NaNoWriMo" is an abbreviation for "National Novel Writing Month." A bunch of slightly crazy people commit to writing a 50,000-word story in the span of just one month. It's not meant to be a fabulous piece of material that jumps to the top of the bestseller list overnight, but rather proof to ourselves that we can actually WRITE A NOVEL if we just psych ourselves up and DO it. The polishing and rewriting can come later, if we so choose, but for most of us, the joy is in the doing. For more info, visit the NaNoWriMo official website: nanowrimo.org or read No Plot? No Problem! by Chris Baty.

Getting Back on Track
I hope everyone is well. I have missed being on dA on a regular basis, and the community and feedback. More than that, I have missed creating art. Even my more recent pieces are things that I created late last year/beginning of this year for an art show at work. Until that art show, I had not drawn anything in ALMOST A WHOLE YEAR. That was shocking to me when I realized it. Art used to be such an integral part of my life, but the daily routine of work-chores-sleep sort of muscled it out of the picture.
I am trying very hard to get back into doing it on a regular basis. The sad part is, it has been so long since I've created with any r
FYI - New Adoptable Account
Hi, folks.
I'm just letting you all know that I have opened up a second account here on DeviantART for adoptables. It's called Adopts-By-Ginger (https://www.deviantart.com/adopts-by-ginger). I've been wanting to do this for a while, so I'm excited to get it up and running :eager:
I decided to keep them separate, so that I wouldn't spam my watchers here with adoptable stuff if they weren't interested. So if you like adoptable stuff, you can head over to my other account and watch me there also. If adoptables aren't your thing, that's fine, too. I will continue to post stuff here, like lineart and the designs I like so much I don't want to sell them ;)
As usual, thanks to all
Merry Belated Christmas and Happy Almost New Year!
Obviously, my timing is a bit off for both, but I hope you all had a fun and blessed holiday season, and I wish you the best in the upcoming year!
November Hiatus
I apologize for my long absence (though those of you who have watched me for a while know this isn't as unusual as it ought to be - you guys deserve a medal for putting up with me ). I have been working on the NaNoWriMo challenge since the beginning of this month, and it has been consuming the vast majority of my creativity.
For those of you who weren't aware, NaNoWriMo is short for "National Novel Writing Month" which takes place November of every year. The premise is simple: write 50,000 words of a story in 30 days. I have completed the challenge several times (though not always in November), and I already hit the halfway point - 25,00

I'm looking forward to the pictures of your characters. Perhaps you'll post some of what you write here too?
