WinteroftheSoul challenges artists--not to push themselves farther, necessarily, but to understand and face with head held high the daunting feeling that accompanies an artistic blockage. Being an artist is scary at times--wild ideas hit out of nowhere, your fingers itch for a pencil at the MOST inconvenient times, and the mess--don't EVEN think about the mess! But being an artist means getting past this, knowing art is your passion, and going for it...and that means, as this haiku by WinteroftheSoul so astutely deduces, being an artist even when it's difficult. Face the blockage head-on! You'll get through it.-- betwixtthepages

In my mind, everystupidstar has a serious knack for two things: imagery and speaking to the human condition. Both of these are most definitely accomplished in her recycled haiku. I think the best way to describe this piece are in her own words: "I think that people are a bit like magpies in that they hold onto things when they can no longer hold onto each other." If you have never checked out her work, please do so! You will get lost in the imagery, get lost in the observations on human nature, and you most definitely will not be disappointed.-- haphazardmelody

This haiku beautifully and aptly captures, through snapshot-like imagery, the nostalgia for times of innocence and wonder expressed in its parent poem and is one that, doubtless, many will relate to..</blockquote-- hopeburnsblue

PuppetAsk me anything
For you I will dance and sing
Who does that make me?
Rising sunEmerging into light
I never realized
That I couldn't see
doors 2.0open(the key turns,
unlocking transformation;
find rebirth)the door.
fetish 2.0so tell me, my pet:
why do fear and ecstasy
smell so much the same?
Lambie Parts (Haiku Form)It hurts my head and
heart to consider changing
who I am for you.
Lost AgainThe only things I dig up
Prudent illusions
Bury me beneath themselves
That Feeling AgainYou know that feeling my friend
Sharp separation
Haven't known it for ages
GlancingLeft to his dark cell,
He trembles with emotions,
Flowing out the cracks.
The DanceMasked in hope of life,
We are condemned to steep pains,
Waiting for recognition.
Nexus, Haiku VersionYour chest's tide pulls me, a
gravity spell that whispers
of stars, and moonlit secrets.
[Haiku] If I were a PencilLife is wonderful
Until I get thrown away,
A piece of garbage.

To You, Small Voice (Haiku)do not be consumed
by the din
have your voice
RESOUND
You've Got to Hide Your Love Away (Haiku)Remember Alex,
while your love for her is pure
you are female too
AugustMagnolia tree, waving
to the rotting barn, shades
chickens pecking at my toes.
Elegy (haiku)distance grows
through time and space . . .
flames flicker
the fall of the last monarchy (reworked)butterfly promise
weighs the feather wind, no less
than the plight he is.
Nightmare (Haiku Version)Betrayed, running, scared,
Bleeding wounds that never close:
Insanity calls.
She was a fox and he a bear (Haiku Version)Strong bear and sly fox
One crafting and one selling
Happy on the road.
Boom-Lag High (Recycled Haiku Edit)Alone;
bop dogs, traffic
beehives & Jesus kind
believe me baptized.
