Weasel Skeet

By motherofsephy

Weasel Skeet is the story of a convict, Vane Lobby, who lives in a prison society, serving his life sentence for murdering his wife and mother. The city is run by convicts, and ruled over by the council. When Vane Lobby is eligible for an appeal, he goes before the council to plead his case. When he gets denied he does the most drastic thing imaginable...he enters the local bank and is introduced to Henry. Henry is willing to help him...for a price, and he requires to be paid back with interest.

Weasel Skeet is a surreal story with magic, drama, and loads of humour. The format of the story is unique - the first few paragraphs describe the setting, and everything after that is strictly dialogue without any prompts for the reader. The reader is encouraged to visualise the story in their mind, and interpret the way the characters look and talk themselves. Each chapter is very short, consisting of only two (and rarely three) typed pages. By the end of the series, there should be 365 chapters plus a prologue and epilogue. A lot, you may think, but it's not too hard. I can usually write from two to five chapters a day.

Have you read a great book recently? Drop us a note and we'll recommend it in the next Round-up.
