Bridget Jones Diary
Whilst November rears its busy NaNoWriMo head, along with preparations for Christmas, thanksgiving, bonfire night and all those end of year events, we need something that's a bit lighter on the mind, but still a good read! It's time to get a little bit romantic in a clumsy, unpredictable way!
Originally intended as a modern day Pride and Prejudice, we are entered into the diary and thoughts of hapless Bridget, a 30-something, chain smoking, alcohol enjoying single woman on her quest for love. This hilarious novel by Helen Fielding has produced 2 sequels and also successful film adaptations of those first two books.
Even if the idea of a modern women fiction makes your nose wrinkle, we want to encourage people to join in this months read and try something different!
How does the book club work?
- This journal going live means that Book Club for the month has officially started! So go ahead and begin reading!
- The mid-month discussion will take place in the form of a journal with discussion in the comments section. This month's discussion will take place on November 16th. Be sure to +watch the CRLiterature account so that you don't miss any journals, polls, or other announcements!
- The end-of-month discussion journal, will take place on November 30th. This will NOT be a spoiler-free event, so make sure you've finished the book before joining the discussion!
