“Sooo….what are we doing?” Digi asked as he trotted alongside Maran.
“You weren’t paying attention to Robin, were you?” Maran asked.
“No, thats why I asked.” Digi said. “I thought you were the smart one.”
“Sometimes I forget who I’m dealing with.” Maran sighed. “Look, we’re going to find ghost pokemon and bring them back to Andalusst. They might have lost their memory when they...well, when they died.”
“Wow, sucks to be them.” Digi said.
“Yep, it does indeed.” Maran said. “So, are you with me on this?”
“That depends.” Digi said. “What are we supposed to do exactly?”
“Well, some of them might be scared, confused, or lonely.” Maran said. “We’re going to calm them down and above all, we have to be gentle with them. Do whatever we can to calm them down. Sing, dance, tell a funny story, anything.”
“Woooow, this sounds like as much fun as jumping in a lake.” Digi grumbled.
“Oh suck it up.” Maran said. “This is a job.”
“I’m not an adult, I don’t have to do this yet!” Digi protested.
“Actually you do. See, your a member of the guild, it’s kind of an obligation. Do it and get paid, or don’t and...well, the membership won’t last too long.” Maran said. “I mean, even Kaza has done guild work.” Digi glared at her but said nothing after mention of Kaza. “There we go. After all, you can do as much as Kaza, right?”
“No! Yes! It’s complicated!” Digi yelled. “”He’s gentle about god damn everything! He’s like a yellow pillow thats scared of you!”
“Interesting word choice, but I understand.” Maran said. “Alright, so you pretend your Kaza then.”
“Alright. Byeeee~” Digi started running off, but something grabbed him and raised him into the air.
“Kaza may easily be frightened, but I don’t think he bolts without warning.” Maran said, using Psychic to bring her partner back. “Tut tut.”
“Guuuhhh, fine!” Digi whined. “I’ll help.”
“Good enough.” Maran said. “I will be making sure you take responsibility for your actions though.”
“How so?” Digi asked.
“Well, if you punch one in the face without good reason...you’re not getting dessert.” Maran explained.
“Hey, you can’t do that!” Digi said in a rather alarmed tone. “Kaza’s making a double layer cake!”
“Well then, I hope thats enough to make you behave.” Maran said, putting him back down on the ground and patting his head with a wing. “Are you gonna be a good boy?”
“...I’ll try.” Digi said resentfully.
“Thats all I can reasonably expect.” Maran said. “And...no digging under Honehenge either. I’d rather not risk tumbling those stones.”
“Uggghhhh, fine!” Digi groaned. “I’ll just stand here and do nothing!”
“You tried that once. You lasted...two minutes and seventeen seconds.” Maran said.
“Thats cause you were staring at me!” Digi growled. “It was weird.”
“If you say so.” Maran chuckled. “Ah, we’re here.”
Digi and Maran stared at the rock construct. “This...is stupid.” Digi said.
“Well, it may not exactly be a refined work, but whoever made this had a lot of strength.” Maran said. “Or a lot of people working together.”
“I liked it better before your second theory.” Digi said. “Strength is more respectable.”
“Well, I don’t think any of the builders were weak.” Maran said. “If they were, they wouldn’t be able to contribute.”
“Yeeaaaah, but it’s cooler to think that just one pokemon, one massively powerful pokemon did this all by himself.” Digi said. “Like...future me or something.”
“Uh-huh.” Maran said with an amused grin. “Let’s just find those ghosts.”
“Looooking foooooor meeeee~?” A voice called out from above them.
“I believe so, yes.” Maran said without looking up. “You do have to be a ghost though.”
“Aha, it’s me!” The voice floated out of the rock and revealed itself as a Mismagius. “Hey there Eve, I’m Adam, and an apple makes three~”
Maran gave him a pleasant smile but knew from those words that she was going to hate this guy with a passion. “My...I think you have the wrong bird.”
“Who the fuck is this!?” Digi roared and glared daggers at the Mismagius. Nobody can just roll up outta nowhere and hit on his mother. He would not have any of that shit.
“I believe he said his name is Adam.” Maran said. “Is it?”
“No actually, but it is if you want it to be~” He said and gave Maran a wink.
Maran ignored the gesture and maintained her smile. “Actually, I’d prefer to ask a few questions, if I may.”
“Oh? Go right ahead sweetheart.” He said with a grin.
“How much do you remember about your life?” Maran asked.
“My life? Well, plenty! I...err….” The Mismagius trailed off as he tried to grasp at any memory he could.
“Alright then, here’s an easier one. What is your name?” Maran asked. She had a plan to deal with him, she just needed to string him along a little longer.
“M-my name? Ahhh...ah geez lady…” He groaned. “I don’t really know.”
“Oh? Did you know you are a woman?” Maran asked with an impish grin.
“WHAT!?” He cried out in alarm. “N-no I’m not!”
“Are you sure?” She asked sweetly. “It’s nothing to be ashamed of if your ghost life didn’t exactly get everything right.”
The Mismagius looked around in a bit of a panic. “Oh no no no, I can’t be a chick. How do I check?!”
“Well, there’s a ghost named Robin back in Andalusst who’s an expert on the subject.” Maran explained. “We can take you right to him if you’d like.”
“You gotta!” He shrieked and flew down, grabbing and shaking her out of desperation. “My manhood is on the line here!”
“Y-yes, just follow us.” Maran said. “Please stop shaking me.”
“S-sorry.” He said, letting go. “Come on, what's the holdup!?”
“Nothing, nothing. Right this way.” Maran said and started walking back to Andalusst, hiding an amused smile. Oh how she loved to screw with people.
Digi had enjoyed the spectacle as well, cackling evilly. “He’s so dumb!” He giggled to himself.
“Shhh...we’ll let Robin take care of it.” Maran whispered.
“You weren’t paying attention to Robin, were you?” Maran asked.

Damaged - Side Contest 2
Pax optima rerum. Casey knew he could be halfway to Ferrget Town right now, but after he saw the devastation of Pannep City from the mega stone crisis, there was no way he could leave. People and Pokemon's lives are important after all. So when he heard that the scientists were needed at the Pannep University, he had to help, even if his biology knowledge was rusty. There was only two problems, the angry crowd outside and Scissors.
"Scissors, it's okay. They're just here to fix the computers." Casey rubbed his partner's shoulder soothingly as she glared threateningly at a repairman and his charmeleon. Scissors pulled away from his hand and r
