Meet the Fractal Community #13

Hello and welcome to a new edition of Meet the Fractal Community, a forthnightly series of interviews that highlights a member of our community. The series will go back and focus on fractal artists.

Today, let's have a closer look to batjorge.

:iconbatjorge:

Hello batjorge! How are you today?

Hi Silvia  I didn't know that in a real interview they ask you this and you can go away  Anyways, let's say good  Doing some fractals... :pc:

:lmao: Glad to hear that! Can you introduce yourself to the community?

Hi my name is Jorge, aka batjorge.
I live in the Canary islands, Spain and I'm a fractal artist. I've been making fractals for almost a decade, starting with apophysis for later going fascinated by the 3D fractal world going through many other programs like Terragen, Bryce, 3dsmax and many more.

Wow, a decade is a lot! How did you get in touch with fractal art?

Hmm, difficult to say. I saw a fractal many many years ago, around twelve years ago here on DA, got a new Internet connection at this time and found DA and thought I want to do this one of this days!
There were other programs, like Kai Power tools and Milkdrop and of course Apophysis who gave me the hook :)

We all know you're a great Mandelbulb3D artist.  What do you prefer about this program in comparison to the other softwares?

I prefer MB3D (Mandelbulb3D) 'cause the 3rd dimension of this. There is a whole world inside every scene you create!

Do you feel there's still some unexplored stuff for you in MB3D? What would you like to experiment in future?

Of course there's still stuff to find due to the endless formula combinations in many ways! Sometimes I think I've just started with it :D (Big Grin)
I've read recently that Jesse (the author of MB3D) has offically stopped developing his program Crying but he left a tiny door open, since it is not opensource
If someone continues developing it I would like to see a 64bit version and maybe some OpenCL feature. Other interesting feature would be an unbiased render engine like Monte Carlo but faster.

We're almost done, Jorge! Is there any deviant you'd like to recommend to your audience and why?

Hmm, hardest question ever!
I would everyone recommend visit shichigoro756's gallery. :iconshichigoro756:
He draws lovely little cute monsters. A mix of high-tech, horror and always a bit humorous. Definetely it's a must to visit his awesome gallery!
Of course they are so many great artists here on DA that it wouldn't fit in this interview. And I love all my dear fractal mates, naturally! Best wishes to all and keep fractaling!

Very nice to read. Batjorge is the user who's work inspired me to want to learn more about the software. He has since shown me what a sharing and humble artist he is and what a great human to have in the fractal community. He willingly helps other artists constantly with information and just by being supportive as well.
