How to Breed:

Bubble Divider by Lambity
• Both parents must have passed the Kalawa (info below).
Go here for the breeding form and breeding request page.
• An admin will reply back to you with the number of pups and their genotypes and phenotypes.
• If you are sharing the pups will someone else, please be sure to reply back to the admin with how you are dividing up the litter.
• You are then free to design your pups for approval.

Breeding Basics:

Bubble Divider by Lambity
:star: Male asotus have a limit of:

• 15 breedings if they pass the Kalawa with rookie score
• 20 breedings if they pass the Kalawa with an average score
• 30 breedings if they pass with a distinguished score

:star: Females have a limit of:

• 7 breedings if they pass the Kalawa with a rookie score
• 10 breedings if they pass the Kalawa with an average score
•15 breedings if they pass with a distinguished score

:star: Inbreeding is allowed, but may result in your pups being infertile or getting a mutation that bans them from competition and breeding. It will also result in an RR penalty.

In order to breed your asotus, they must first the Kalawa test to prove they're worthy of passing on their genes. Upon completing the test, your asotu will earn one of the following:

Rookie Fertility Mask
Average Fertility Mask
Distinguished Fertility Mask

Breeding Log

Bubble Divider by Lambity
Once your asotu has earned their fertility mask, an admin will edit their import info with how many breeding they have. Every time you or someone you give permission to sends in a breeding request, your asotu will lose a breeding slot. When the slots are used up, the asotu will no longer be able to breed.

To give someone permission to use a slot, go to the BREEDING LOG comment on the asotu's import and write "(their username) has permission to use (asotu name) for (number of litters/etc.)".

Inborn Boosts

Bubble Divider by Lambity
Pups that you breed have the potential to receive inborn boosts. These boosts are not available to starter asotus. Only pups with an actual lineage can receive boosts. Your chance to receive boosts is influenced by the parents' level in their job. Boosts will pass on to their offspring, so you can accumulate them by breeding two asotus with different boosts until you've collected them all. Asotus with more boosts are more valuable.

Marks fade, however, as they go down through generations. Kaumoi parents will pass their Mark on to their pups (first generation) and their grand-pups (second generation). After that, the Mark no longer passes.

Boosts are as follows:

Mark of Kuakeahi:
This asotu is thought to have received the blessing of Kuakeahi, the fishing deity of the Asotu Islanders.
+10% chance to roll a rare pet at the end of a dungeon using this asotu

Mark of Moahai:
This asotu is thought to have received the blessing of Moahai, the hunting deity of the Asotu Islanders.
-5 extra HP taken off from bosses when this asotu hits them

Mark of Lamilu:
This asotu is thought to have received the blessing of Lamilu, the deity of loyalty of the Asotu Islanders.
+1 more action in a dungeon round

Mark Oumoku:
This asotu is thought to have received the blessing of Oumoku, the king of the Asotu Island deities.
+10% increase to Job Board task payout when job is completed by this asotu

Mark of Heakili:
This asotu is thought to received the blessing of Heakili, the healing deity of the Asotu Islanders.
+2% chance to roll rare mutations from breedings using this asotu

Mark of Ainu:
This asotu is thought to received the blessing of Ainu, the battle deity of the Asotu Islanders.
-5 more HP from dungeon monsters

Using NPC Breedables

Bubble Divider by Lambity
:star: Firstly, NPCBs are located in this folder: asotus.deviantart.com/gallery/…

If you have an existing asotu that you want to breed to an NPCB....

• Your asotu must have completed the Kalawa. They must also have available breeding slots.
• Pick which NPCB you want to breed to, then note Umbrafen.
• Once you've paid the breeding fee, Umbrafen will write you permission and you can submit a breeding request for your litter. After it's been rolled, you can select one pup. If you see other genotypes from the litter that you'd like, you can pay additional fees for them. The values are the same as they would be if you were to purchase them from the Geno Shop.
300 :points: for a common
1200 :points: for an uncommon color
1800 :points: for an uncommon main pattern, mutation, or white mark
2800 :points: for a rare color
3800 :points: for a rare main pattern or white mark
3800 :points: for a rare mutation

All other pups will be added to the Geno Shop.

If you would like to breed 2 NPCBs together....

• Pick which parents you'd like and note Umbrafen.
• The breeding fee you pay is the sum of the two parents' breeding fees. Once you've paid the fee, Umbrafen will breed your litter and you can select two pups. If you see other genotypes from the litter that you'd like, you can pay additional fees for them. All other pups will be added to the Geno Shop.

:star: Note that NPCBs have limited breeding slots. When they've been bred the maximum amount of times, they will be retired and a new NPCB will be created to take their place.

Special Cases

Bubble Divider by Lambity
If you breed an NPCB to someone else's asotu here is how it will work:

NPCB X Half Litter Slot to someone else's asotu:

Depending on litter size, you will be able to pick 1 pup, the other owner will pick one, and the rest will go to the Geno Shop.

NPCB X Full Litter Slot to someone else's asotu:

Same rules as breeding one of your own asotus to an NPCB. You will be able to select one pup.

Crossing Asotu Breeds

Bubble Divider by Lambity
Crossing asotu breeds is allowed, but for the sake of simplicity the resulting pups will either be one breed or the other (rather than having separate lines for mixed breeds). When you cross asotu breeds other than standard (ex. ookii x ookii) there is still a high chance of getting a standard asotu of the breeding. Here are the crossbreeding odds as far as what you can get from them. These are rolled for each individual pup:

Ookii x Standard
10 in 100 (ookii)
90 in 100 (standard)

Ookii x Chiisai
15 in 100 (ookii)
15 in 100 (chiisai)
70 in 100 (standard)

Ookii x Ookii
30 in 100 (ookii)
70 in 100 (standard)

Ookii x Nile
10 in 100 (ookii)
15 in 100 (nile)
75 in 100 (standard)

Ookii x Icebreaker
15 in 100 (ookii)
10 in 100 (icebreaker)
75 in 100 (standard)

Chiisai X Standard
15 in 100 (chiisai)
85 in 100 (standard)

Chiisai X Chiisai
40 in 100 (chiisai)
60 in 100 (standard)

Chiisai x Icebreaker
10 in 100 (chiisai)
5 in 100 (icebreaker)
85 in 100 (standard)

Chiisai x Nile
15 in 100 (chiisai)
15 in 100 (nile)
70 in 100 (standard)

Nile X Standard
15 in 100 (nile)
85 in 100 (standard)

Nile x Icebreaker
10 in 100 (nile)
5 in 100 (icebreaker)
85 in 100 (standard)

Nile X Nile
40 in 100 (nile)
60 in 100 (standard)

Icebreaker X Standard
5 in 100 (icebreaker)
95 in 100 (standard)

Icebreaker X Icebreaker
15 in 100 (icebreaker)
85 in 100 (standard)

A few Q's!

1). Does it cost points to breed 2 player owned Asotus?
2). How many pups are you allowed to keep per litter?
3). Where would I find people who would be willing to breed? Is there a comment thread?
4). How is dividing a litter usually decided?
