CBS Gabe :: New Model Download!

Description

With permission from the lovely BlastedKing, I've fixed up her CBS Gabe skin for not only Source Filmmaker, but for Team Fortress 2 and Garry's Mod as well!

Please do not upload the Garry's Mod or Source Filmmaker files into their Steam Workshops! Due to rather harsh feedback from character models being uploaded, I would rather not have Gabe be attacked!

If there are any questions or concerns or anything about Gabe or how to install his skin, please feel free to comment!

Root Download Folder

Installing for Garry's Mod

- Head into the Garry's Mod folder and you'll see a .gma file. This contains six hexed models of Gabe so his skin won't retexture the default Scout skin or anything else. Models contain three standard and three hardware morph models, each with different physics to use.
- Once the .gma file is downloaded, go to:
Steam > SteamApps > common > Garry's Mod > garrysmod > addons
- Create a new folder inside the addons folder, then move the .gma file inside it. To prevent any possible confusion, it should look exactly like this:
Steam > SteamApps > common > Garry's Mod > garrysmod > addons > Some Folder > cbs_gabe.gma
- If installed correctly, next time you start up Garry's Mod you'll see Gabe's addon in the Addons section of your Spawnmenu. The title of his addon will be "CBS Gabe".

Installing for Source Filmmaker

- Head into the Source Filmmaker folder and you'll see "SFM Gabe Model.zip". This contains a hexed standard model of Gabe and just like with Garry's Mod, it will prevent Gabe's skin from retexturing the default Scout skin.
- Once downloaded and extracted, go to:
Steam > SteamApps > common > Source Filmmaker > game > usermod
- Move the "materials" and "models" folders from the download and into this folder, merging them with the possibly existing materials and models folders. To prevent any possible confusion, it should look exactly like this:
game > usermod > materials > models > player > scout > (all of Gabe's texture files)
game > usermod > models > blastedking > (Gabe's model files)
- If installed correctly, you will find Gabe's model under Usermod inside blastedking > gabe.mdl

Note: The reason there is no hardware morph version is because there's an extra texture that is preventing Gabe's skin from completely working. Unless the new skin is retextured, Gabe can't have a hardware morph model because the original one without that texture is broken.

Installing for Team Fortress 2

- Head into the Team Fortress 2 folder and you'll see two .vpk files: "CBS Gabe RED" and "CBS Gabe BLU". Pick which team you'd like to use the skin on (they're the exact same skin, so it's recommended not to download both!)
- After downloading the .vpk, go to:
Steam > SteamApps > common > Team Fortress 2 > tf > custom
- Drop the .vpk inside the custom folder and the skin will be active next time you start up TF2! If somehow the skin isn't working, double check your path and make sure it's set up exactly like this:
Steam > SteamApps > common > Team Fortress 2 > tf > custom > CBS Gabe RED/BLU.vpk
- If you still have a folder called "my custom folder", don't even worry about it; that's mostly there to help with the example in the readme.txt file that may or may not also be there, but I believe those instructions are for mods that aren't packed away into .vpk files.
