Bakuan Syllabary Script

Created originally as a simple way to record events in stone, the Bakuan script continued being used even after the adaptation of paper for cultural reasons. Seen by most outsiders as a confusing, crude, and unwieldy form of writing, to the Bakuan it suffices. During the period of time when the Chozoan Empire controlled the Bakuans, the Chozoans attempted to replace the Bakuan script with a the Chozoan alphabet. Since it failed to replicate all the sounds of the Bakuan language (mostly tones and its heavy use of glottal stops) and caused a tremendous amount of confusion and difficulty reading. The attempted reform was abandoned and traditional Bakuan script remained in use.
