Well... right ?
I just don`t understand the concept of closed species. How can one be sure that THEY invented the idea of a character like that first ? Where goes the line between original closed species and unoriginal like the one on the example ?
I`ve written more about my point of view to this journal :
Please notice that I do not try to mock any specific closed species, and this comic is not aimed for anyone intentionally. These are just my personal opinions.

About closed species... I really don`t understand them. How can one artist claim some features of a character, punch them together and then deny everyone drawing a character that looks like their closed species? To me it`s ridiculous! Artistic freedom is important. I especially don`t understand species which look a lot like an animal which already exists. How does one own rights to making a dog character with horns ? If someone comes up with a similar (note: NOT copied) character which has already been invented, it`s somehow wrong because some one else has come up with a similar idea before... How should one even know what characters are already "taken" and which you are not allowed to make?? World is a huge place and we all share imagination, it should belong to everybody. NO I DO NOT SUPPORT stealing character

I have an objection to closed species on general principle, mostly because if you think I'm going to pay someone to be allowed to make an OC you're actually insane.
Usually if I see a closed species I like, I just screenshot their ref, make my own, and either not post it at all or post it to Tumblr where the original artist is usually not.
Is it scummy? Kinda. Is it worth it?
...Yeah.
