:note: This does include groups, who have been supportive in certain ways along the way, since August 2010.

:star: I wish it *could* include EVERY affiliate, but I have NOT had the time/ability to update the whole list and place the *newest* affiliates here yet. I plan to do this, sometime over the holidays.

But I have made deviations over the last six months or so, to thank the newest, or "most recent affiliates"- which oftentimes, continues to include many of the FIRST and OLDEST affiliates, as many of the wonderful people named above, have continued on this journey with me, throughout this whole project!
It is a shared project, a TEAM project. A project that is indeed "OURS".

Thank you to ALL Affiliates of "THE SHELTER PROJECT" for anything you have EVER DONE, or CONTINUE to do!
There are no words great enough to explain the impact that you all are making!

:note: I do hope to publish the 4th Anniversary Shelter Project News Article... but for now... this is what I'm doing. :aww:

This is Molly.

Once upon a time two sisters, Savannah and Molly Lab x Husky mixes were surrendered at South Coast Humane Society. This was about one year ago, Nov. 2013. They were a few years old, and had only ever known life with each other. They were very close, and were a truly wonderful pair of dogs. Most pairs of dogs who come into the shelter, even actual biological siblings are usually split up, but this connection seemed too special, so at first, they were advertised together... and while there was some interest- it was in fact true, that no one wanted both of them, and so the direction was changed, and they were even split up within the shelter. :hmm:

Even with just the split, Molly immediately began to show signs of depression. Savannah, was adopted about April 2013, which was great for Savannah, but horrible for Molly. Her depression became so bad, it was as if she was physically ill. She did not eat nearly as much, was not interested in playing with any other dogs, and her ears were nevermore perky. It got worse for a long while. We tried to re-advertise her, but she looked too upset in her photos. In mid-summer, some real work was done with her to revive her spirits. It was not easy, but more time was spent with her. Extra time in the backyard, a couple of trips to the dog park, and things like that. She was finally re-advertised, and the truth of her story was told. Not too long after, she was adopted in October... one year after arriving to the shelter, and 6 months after her sister. She went to a good home, and it may have taken a year, and A LOT of work, after all, her heart was broken, but things are a lot better for Molly now, than they were before!
And she lived happily ever after! :D

I understand if you don't have time to comment, but thank you for any kind comments, too. :aww:
It's important to know this NOW, as I may NOT be able to do individual thank-you's for :+fav:'s, or in case I cannot respond to each comment, either. Thanks for understanding. :thanks:
And, if you just came to view, I appreciate that, too.
