Both parents were thrilled to have a daughter in their lives. Thing is, when you're living in a calm atmosphere, it's too boring for a little girl like Toni. She wanted a hobby to entertain herself and so... She did! She tried singing but ended up having a strep throat after a few days of so-called singing (it's actually screeching) and tried cooking but ended up setting a small fire down at their home kitchen. Though, she was a determined Ralts! She would do anything to get over her boredom! Or perhaps... Something more than just boredom... Perhaps revealing a secret of one of the family members? ~
The young girl noticed that her father disappears in the middle of the night. He didn't go outside or anything, nothing too shady. It's just going down at their home basement. At first, she thought he was trying to record something. But then after the past few weeks when she saw him carrying little remotes and scrap metal, something was definitely wrong! Or good? Not quite sure but there was only one way to find out... Follow your daddy! She then sneakily followed the Gallade man close by. Inside the basement was filled with all sorts of flashing lights, machines, gadgets, and other high-tech objects. Of course, her dad immediately took noticed of Toni. As soon as he was about to scold her lightly, the Ralts was rather fascinated at everything she saw. He started to have some second thoughts of grounding her and such, perhaps he could pass everything here inside to her. Maybe, but now is not the time as she was still too young to understand the fundamentals of engineering.
During her elementary school years, she didn't have much problems there as she studied hard enough to ace most quizzes. However unlike most girls her age, she spent her time figuring out which object goes into which other object, or draft a gadget blueprint. Her father was rather impressed with what she was doing. Oh yes, it was finally time to lend his knowledge to her. And around her 6th Grade, she was taught everything about technology especially tinkering on machines. Toni, now brimming with the vast knowledge of technology, had decided to put her knowledge into good use. However, everything went on a downhill when she hit high school and after her evolution into a Kirlia.
She wasn't the cute, sweet and smart little Ralts she used to be anymore. Her attitude became rebellious, cocky and rather smart-mouthed. Sure, Toni was one with the popular kids but that didn't help her behavior in school. She would be rude to teachers and often get sent to detention, she didn't care. She relied on her knowledge and her knack for fixing gadgets. She would skip school, lock herself in her room and tinker on any possible gadget she can find while eating a whole heap of sweets for lunch and sometimes, dinner. This angered her father a lot and tried to pull her out from her rude attitude but no such luck.
Now how did she lost her arm? To be honest, it wasn't all much of a tragedy like she got hit by a car or anything. No, it was about her unhealthy habits. If you have noticed in the previous paragraph, it said that she was eating a heap ton of sweets for lunch and dinner. Well, her little habits have created a familiar disorder called Diabetes for it turns out that not only its because of her habits but its also because it runs in the family. Unfortunately, it was too little too late when they first discovered it and as for now, Toni is now being prepped for operation of an amputation for her left arm. Now what'll she do? She can no longer invent things! She can't do it with just one arm! Though not severely depressed, she felt a little bit useless. That's when her father came to save the day! He made a decision to give his daughter a replacement arm. A robotic arm, to be exact. Toni liked this idea and with the help of her father, they both created a new arm for her!
Slowly but surely, she broke out of her habit and started getting back on track with her studies, still a bit cocky but is nice enough to respect teachers, at least. It may also take awhile for her to get used to having a mechanical arm attached to her but yeah, it's going well so far. She missed inventing things and use them for her own personal necessities. And that's when she got into some deep thought. Perhaps she could use her skill to help others? Yeah, this could work out for her! Now all she has to do is to find out the school community problems. Where to start...? Hmm, she looked around and noticed there were a lot of bullies in her school, a bit cliche but it'll do. And so, she started helping out the victims of bullying. And boy, did it felt good to do good! She told her father about her deeds and was rather proud of her to stand up like that.
A few months have passed and so far, there were less school problems. This hero-kind of thing in school really helped a lot not just for the students but to Toni. She reformed herself into a more justice-seeking girl, well sort of. And that's where she got into thinking yet again. What if she could go fighting crime? I mean, she has the knowledge for technology not to mention she can fight back hard enough to drive off a few baddies. She sighed, it was a good idea. But... Superheroes only exist in comic books... How the heck is she going to be a hero if she doesn't even know how to act like a hero to the nation? Or just the society? She told her father about her plans on becoming one and he went into some deep thought. He did recall a school he was recommended way before Toni was born, a school for heroes-in-training and hero support-in-training. I think it was called Pillar Academy? Oh, that's right! That's the one! And you wouldn't believe how happy Toni was when she heard there was school like that!
And so around the near end of summer vacation, the Kirlia filled up her student application and is now waiting (expecting) a reply back from the school.
