Hiccup, Toothless, and the gang x Baby!Reader

NOTE - This takes place shortly after the second film so that's why Valka's here.

It was your typical day on the Isle of Berk. Nothing special was happening in particular, and Hiccup and his dragon Toothless were beyond bored, with the latter getting terribly hungry, and he was in no mood to let this go unnoticed. "Okay, okay, Toothless. We'll go get you some fish", Hiccup said, not wanting to be badgered by Toothless for another minute. The dragon got very excited and, as he wasn't wearing his prosthetic tailfin today, followed the young man as they walked to the beach. They were almost there when they heard a cry coming not too far from where they were.

"Is that what I think it is?", Hiccup asked, walking towards where the noise was coming from. It got louder the closer they got. Hiccup looked down and noticed a tiny bundle, but whatever, or rather whoever, was under the wool blankets was completely covered underneath it, muffling the crying. Slowly, Hiccup leaned down on and uncovered that part of the blanket and gasped at what he saw. Wrapped in the blankets was a baby, probably about six months old. As soon as she looked up and saw Hiccup, she immediately stopped crying. "How did you get here?", Hiccup asked the baby, who just looked up at him and gurgled. Curious, Toothless inched forward and sniffed the baby, and she giggled, just as Hiccup had braced himself for tears and screaming from the child. "Come on, bud. We can't just leave her here. Maybe Mom will know what to do", Hiccup said as he picked the baby up and started to carry her but stopped when he noticed that Toothless was sitting stubbornly in place. "Toothless", Hiccup said in a stern tone, and the dragon groaned and made a face as if saying "Oh, alright" and following them.

"Mom, we're back. And there's a guest", Hiccup said as he and Toothless entered the house with the baby. "Who is it?", Valka asked as she helped herself down from the rafters, but gasped when she saw the baby. "Oh, and who is this here?", she asked in a playful tone as she approached Hiccup, who handed the baby to her. "I don't know. We just found her on the beach", Hiccup explained. "I know. We should name her (y/n)", Valka suggested. "Well, okay. She's ours then", Hiccup said, smiling. "Hello, little one. I'm your ömmu", Valka said as she played with (y/n). After a few minutes...

"Hey, Mom, I'm gonna take (y/n) out to meet the others", Hiccup said, now having the child back in his arms. "Alright, dear. Just make sure they're careful, especially those twins. And tell them not to let their dragons near (y/n). We don't want her getting hurt", Valka warned, remembering the time Cloudjumper accidentally scratched Hiccup on the chin when he was a baby himself. "Okay, Mom", Hiccup said, but Toothless tried to follow. "You gotta stay here, bud. You heard her. But I know we can trust you, so you can play with the baby when we get back", Hiccup said, and Toothless reluctantly went back in the house, pouting.

"Hey, Hiccup! I was just coming to see how things are...", Astrid said, but she trailed off when she saw little (y/n) playing with Hiccup's shiny armour. "Oh, hello, sweetie!", Astrid said, reaching out to tickle the baby, who giggled. "Astrid, this is (y/n). (Y/n), Astrid", Hiccup said, trying to introduce Astrid and (y/n) to one another. "She's so adorable! May I?", Astrid said, reaching out and Hiccup handed the baby to her. "Let's go show her to the others", she suggested. "I was just about to do that. Mom told me to tell you to keep the dragons away from her. You know how frail babies are", Hiccup said. "Okay", Astrid said. "Oh yeah, and we might wanna keep her away from Gobber. All the guy does is yell; he might scare (y/n)", Hiccup added.

As soon as the others saw Hiccup, Astrid, and (y/n), they all swarmed around them when they saw the baby. "Are you gonna be chubby like me someday, pumpkin?", Fishlegs asked (y/n). "Newsflash, Fishlegs. You're not chubby, you just haven't outgrown your own baby fat. Your adressing the kid as 'pumpkin' just backfired on you", Tuffnut said. "Morbidly obese is more like it", Ruffnut added, snickering. "Hey, I'll have you know that I am neither. I'm just a big eater", Fishlegs told the twins. "Why would you even want it, anyway? Until they talk and walk, all they ever do is eat, sleep, and cry", Snotlout said. "It'll feel a whole lot different when you have your own. And besides, let's not forget that we were all babies ourselves once", Astrid shot back. "I wonder what a baby between me and Eret, son of Eret would have looked like", Ruffnut said, getting that look in her eyes. "Ha!", Tuffnut and Snotlout scoffed loudly, causing (y/n) to whimper, which rapidly evolved from sobbing into ear piercing screams.

"Look what you did!", Astrid said angrily, pointing at the crying baby. "Sorry", Tuffnut said sarcastically. "Ssh, it's okay, sweetie", Hiccup said as he gently bounced (y/n) up and down, desperately trying to soothe her. "I bet she's hungry", Ruffnut said, despite knowing that her brother scared the baby. "Well, how about some milk?", Tuffnut suggested, unusually caring all of a sudden. "Ooh, I'd love some!", Fishlegs said excitedly. "Not you. The baby", Astrid said. "Well, I'm not exactly lactating here, pal", Fishlegs said. "ENOUGH!", Hiccup said, silencing even (y/n). "I think it's time we went back home. See ya", he added once he'd calmed down, carrying the baby.

"How'd it go with your friends and the little one?", Valka asked as Hiccup and (y/n) entered. "They were being their obnoxious selves, as usual", Hiccup said, setting the baby down on the floor as Toothless approached her, remembering the promise, and he and the little girl played, trading gummy smiles as they did. After few hours of (y/n) playing, taking a nap, being fed, and getting changed, all of a sudden and out of the blue, she started crying again, and Toothless walked off in complaint. "Looks like someone's getting hungry", Hiccup said as he picked up the baby. "Mom, could you go get her some milk?" "Sure thing, dear", Valka said, and about a minute later she came back with some sheep's milk in one of Hiccup's bottles from when he was a baby. "Thanks", Hiccup said as he took the bottle and sat down in a chair and gave (y/n) the bottle, and she immediately stopped crying as she began drinking from it. "Not so fast... there we go", Hiccup gently said to the baby, and Toothless and Valka came over and watched in fascination. After about two minutes, (y/n) hiccuped, which Hiccup (what a joke, huh?!) took as a sign that she had finished her meal. "Hey when she hiccuped she said my name!", Hiccup laughed as he placed a rag over his shoulder and held (y/n) over it and patted her back to burp her. "Her first joke", Valka agreed. "Oh, look..." Hiccup looked and saw that the baby was starting to doze off. "Looks like it's someone's bedtime", Hiccup said. "I think your father managed to save your cradle from the night I was taken", Valka said quietly. Hiccup nodded as Valka dragged the old cradle out next to Hiccup's bed, and Hiccup gently set the sleeping (y/n) down in the cradle and covered her with the blankets. He gave her a kiss on the cheek before he, Valka, Toothless, and Cloudjumper all quietly watched the baby sleep.

"I haven't seen a baby this beautiful since you were born", Valka whispered to Hiccup. "I'm glad we found (y/n). Just looking at her is making me sleepy", Hiccup whispered. "It's not just you", Valka said, getting sleepy herself and she noticed Toothless climbing to his sleeping place in the rafters as quietly as he could so he wouldn't wake the baby. Valka yawned silently and went over to where Cloudjumper had laid down, snuggling next to him before sleep overtook both of them and Toothless. Hiccup went into another room and changed into some hand-me-down pajamas before going to his bed. He looked up and around at his out-cold mother and the two sleeping dragons before his eyes came to rest on little (y/n), who was now faintly smiling in her sleep, and the last thing Hiccup saw before slipping into unconsciousness was her. His baby.
