Our Anniversary Gift, To You
Today marks theWrittenRevolution's fifth anniversary, and we can finally re-start a project we were very fond of: and in the best tWR fashion, we bring it back to you packed with innovation!
What is the Mentorship Project?
It's a learning system for our members, that works through a series of mentees (aka the deviants who want to learn, or rather, "be taught" new things) and mentors (the more experienced deviants who feel confident enough to teach - and maybe learn something new also
), that we help form pairs to follow the Project.What does the project consist of?
Our admin group has been raiding deviantArt! With more than a hundred articles from the most devious minds of the Lit community, we will support mentors and their teaching endeavour, and with lessons and activities tailored around the most important aspects of both poetry and prose we will help mentees improve their writing skills.
Art meeting its application, truly so.
This round of Mentorship Project will be made of bi-weekly to monthly (depending on the depth and variety of the subject under the microscope) lessons.
We will be at the participants' side with regular chat events, and we're thinking of doing a series of interviews with some of dA's "big" writers to inspire them and keep the flame of inspiration kindled. We know it's not easy to keep up with a writing schedule, especially when there's a whole lot of stuff going on in our everyday lives too! Which is why we'll give our participants the possibility of extending the duration of their lessons.
Each following "lesson" will be posted on time, and we'll keep track of people who are behind and direct them to their next step when they're ready to do so.
And that's not all!
We recognise that taking part in such a project can be really time-consuming.
That's why we'll take advantage of the month of December, where everyone is busy whether it's because of the holidays or school deadlines or just OMGBUSYLIFE, to spread the word about this project: we won't be only collecting more participants this way, but also prizes to give out to our most hard-working and proficient members. We can't really give "grades", can we, so we'll have to make do with small rewards for great efforts.

- this project is all kinds of awesome. I actually learned tons just reading through all the articles we'll be using for it.
- it's a commitment that pays off. If you're a member of theWrittenRevolution then you care about improvement as a writer - well, this is a decathlon for writers, it's Hercules' labors in written form (except no God/Demi-God status is granted upon completing our tasks at the moment).
- It would really be optimal if you were a member of the group to participate. We accept everyone because our goal is helping the community, but staying up-to-date on our events if you're not part of the group can be hard! Please consider it.
- Truthfully, I wrote this last paragraph to be able to use our custom-made list. It's a beauty, isn't she.

- Oh and! The actual Mentorship Project starts in mid-January! This month is for pimping, advertising, and general squeeing while we wait. And the journals where you can sign up to be a mentor/mentee will be released soon!
