Description
I'm currently in the process of bringing my characters up to date to fit in with changes I've made to the story they are involved in. Cutie marks were among the things that needed changing. Some needed tweaks others needed overhauls.
Top Row (left to right):
Sidus Aurorae: Hopefully the final edit to this character's cutie mark. I've overhauled his special talent so I decided to rework his mark into something more fitting as well. Went back to the star motif it used to have since I liked that and I kept the idea of having the colors of his friends' coats as part of the mark as well. I also added a set of laurels surrounding the star as a bit of foreshadowing.
Carmine Eve: Probably the least changed of the bunch. All I did was increase the size of her cutie mark slightly since it looked too small.
Summer Sparks: Pretty much re-did her cutie mark from scratch. Improved the design of everything and removed the smiley face on the sun because it looked too goofy. However, overall it kept the same design theme.
Middle Row (left to right):
Prairie Willow: Mostly adjusted the willow branches to improve the appearance of her cutie mark and reduce the clutter. It's unchanged otherwise.
Bastion Blitz: Only changes to his cutie mark were reducing the number of spikes on the star and the number of arrows. As well as generally improving the color contrasts with his coat.
Artisan: Completely overhauled his cutie mark since I changed his special talent completely.
Bottom Row (left to right): (Sidus' adoptive family) (none of these were changed)
Wind Shear: His special talent is making almost instantaneous adjustments to his velocity while flying. Considering making him an ex-Wonderbolt from before Spitfire's team took over but haven't decided yet.
Zephyr Song: An accomplished singer from Cloudsdale, Zephyr is the pony who initially finds the lost Sidus.
Painted Light: Sidus' little sister who is a highly skilled painter for her age and will even swirl around the clouds in the sky for better inspirational light.
