-[Arrogant] Lance while won't actively boast about how 'great' he believes he is, if you ask a question where the answer has to do with his 'greatness' he will not shut up about it. He may even over exaggerate is a bit.

-[Callous] Lance really only cares about himself, and anything that has to do with himself. While he may have 'friends' if those friends need help, he won't be one to show much mercy if it requires any kind of effort from him to do so. He honestly could care less, he'll just get more 'friends'. Through he doesn't believe that anyone is good enough to be 'real' friends with him.

=[Cunning] Just like in his table top games, he's very good at devising plans and taking advantage of any situation. Wether that plan be for a good cause or a bad.

=[Independent] He's very good at working by himself. But if he needs help, he won't be one to admit it easily. In fact he might not at all and would rather fail than ask for assistance.

+[Passionate] When he has an interest, he becomes incredibly passionate over it. He'll spend many hours learning about it, reading about it, doing it whatever it might be. Until he grows bored of it at least.

History:

One could say... Lance was a spoiled child. He was born in the small town of Verdanturf, to a fairly well to do family. The ran a gardening shop, which did very well in the town of flowers as one can imagine. So when their child was born they were able to give him everything and anything he wanted. He was an independent child, rarely crying or making a fuss over anything. His parents were perfectly fine with this, as they were busy with their business as is, so didn't get to spend as much time as they would've like with him. But they did try their best to push their son in the right direction. And Lance loved his parents as much a child could.

As Lance grew his interests change often, he went from wanting to be a farmer to an astronaut, to a police officer to a fire fighter and everything in between. His parents enrolled him into every single program that their son asked for. Whether it be learning to play a piano or learning different languages, singing, dancing, or anything else under the sun. But seeing how finicky their son was about his interest, he dropped out of these as quickly as he got into them.

At some point he picked up table top games. He was mainly interested Chess, Checkers but also enjoyed the occasional Dungeon and Dragons game. He built a community of friends around himself that shared the same interest, or those who he convinced into it. By showing them how 'fun' what he liked was. Even though he had all these friends that he'd play with an against... they never could seem to beat Lance. And this... air that Lance started to get about him caused him to loose a lot of said friends. He started bragging, showing off, and just getting his friends to play with him just so he could beat them. Other kids really did start to have a disdane for his attitude, however that didn't stop Lance from continuing to hone his skills. He really had a knack for these kinds of games it seemed, and his parents took notice of this. Finding out that there was a nearby Chess competition, Lance begged his parents to enter him. And they did, in the beginner class, where most of the other competitors were children like him... and he quickly rose through the ranks. He was labelled a prodigy of sorts. Winning many competitions and making a name for himself in the community. At least within the Hoenn bracket and with some prying from his parents they started traveling to enter world competitions. And Lance did great in these as well, while he didn't win EVERY single time he did a lot. Though these losses did affect Lance, getting him really down until he won again.

Lance became almost obsessed over winning. If he lost, he'd stay up for DAYS practicing, re-watching tapes of his matches, analyzing every. Single. Little detail until he figured out exactly what he did wrong. Figuring out what his opponent did to beat him. Realizing that these competitions were getting a bit into their son's head, they didn't want him to think winning was everything and that was starting to become a problem. They blamed themselves for their sons new personality, so thought sending him some place where he might learn some manners would be a good idea... perhaps a private school of sorts. St. Mortiel was prestigious enough to get their sons approval, and he was happy to go.
