Make sure you read all the journals before asking questions!
If you're having trouble finding answers in the journals, check here to see if it is listed! If it's not, please feel free to ask us in the comments below. c:

Q: If I change my username should I let you guys know?
A: Yes!  You should note the group with your old username and your new one so we can update you on the docs.  This should be done as soon as you change it and before you do anything else in the group.  If your name is changed we can't find you.  This also goes for switching accounts.

Q: How do I level my Pokemon?
A: By drawing/writing about them, of course! See here for information on leveling.

Q: How do I teach my Pokemon attacks?
A: Again, by drawing/writing about them! Information on Learning Attacks can be found here! Click here for more information on Attacks.

Q: How do I get new Pokemon?
A: You can buy Eggs from the Market or another player, adopt Pokemon from the Adoption Center or, if you have a Safari License, try to capture Pokemon in the Safari Zone.

Q: How do I breed my Pokemon?
A: You find a suitable, opposite-gender mate (unless you use a Destiny Bond, which allows for same gender breeding) and send the Group a Note stating you wish to breed the two. Click here to find more information on breeding.

Q: How do I battle?
A: First you buy a Trainer License and join the Trainer Battle Association. Battle Information can be found here!

Q: How do I purchase items?
A: Check out the Market. Send points to PARPG-Sales donation pool. Click here to go to the Market.

Q: Am I required to have any Breeder/Ranch Information shown?
A: No, but if you want to, this is a good format for it. Trainers & ranches are optional roleplay aspects only -  they are not required to have!

Q: What are Shiny and Mutant Pokemon?
A: Information on them can be found here if you've got a Shiny or Mutant. Hybrid information is also there.

Q: What is "GCP"?
A: An abbreviation for our in-game currency 'Gift Cards', which can be used to purchase items from the Market. Some members also allow the use of GCP as payment.

Q: Am I allowed to use a Pokemon from my -insert name of Pokemon game- OR my Pokemon OC's in PARPG?
A: So long as you acquire the Pokemon within the group (such as hatching it from an egg, buying it, trading it, adopting it from the Adoption Center, finding it in the Safari, or breeding it) you can!

Q: Am I allowed to change the name of a Pokemon I purchased from or traded with another member?
A: Yes, though we recommend you keep a note of the Pokemon's old name if you plan to use the original owner's art for it!

Q: How do I hatch my eggs?
A: By going to this journal and posting which eggs you would like to hatch. Make sure to specify which type or generation you want hatched if you have a type or gen egg!

Q: Why am I not finding any items on my submissions to the group?
A: It is a random chance to find an item, so you will not always find one! The only way to guarantee finding an item is to submit a picture/story worth more than 8 EXP in total, which gains you two item rolls (one chance, one guarantee).

Q: If I draw another member's Pokemon, do they receive EXP?
A: Of course!

Q: Are we allowed to RP together? Is there a preferred way of posting rp chats where everyone involved will get rolls/credit for their posts?
A: Yes! If you each want your own item rolls, you can either post them completely separately post by post (if they are long enough) or you each take a part of the RP and post half of it.

Q: If I breed two hybrids made up of 4 species with a hybrid potion, how are the species in the hybrid babies determined?
A: Actually, two 4 species hybrids are not able to be bred together with a hybrid potion. However, they may be bred regularly without a hybrid potion.

Q: What is Appeal and how can I earn it?
A: Appeal is a representation of your Pokemon's 'beauty stat' and can be earned through competing in group hosted contests. It can also be earned through breeding Pokemon who have their own Appeal, which will pass on some to their offspring. More information can be found here.

Q: How do I evolve my Pokemon if it evolves by friendship, beauty, or any other way rather than by level or Evolution Stone?
A: In PARPG, if the Pokemon you have doesn't evolve by level, it will always be evolved by an Evolution Stone. You can evolve any normal Pokemon with an Evolution Stone.

Q: How do I acquire a Legendary?
A: You can either buy them from members who sell them or win one from events we host every once in awhile, though you'll never know which events may hold Legendaries as prizes! ;D  You can also obtain legendary or legendary hybrid eggs, though keep in mind these pokemon are not breedable.

Q: Can I get shiny or mutant Pokemon from breeding?
A: Yes! You can strengthen your chances for a shiny or mutant Pokemon by breeding shiny or mutant Pokemon together, but it is entirely possible to get shinies or mutants from breeding two regular Pokemon as well if you're lucky!

Q: Can Hybrids be shiny?
A: No, but hybrids can be their parents' colors so if the parents are shiny, that's about the same thing.

Q: Can my Pokemon earn more potential?
A: No, potential is a representation of one's dedication of leveling and breeding their Pokemon. The higher the level of the Pokemon bred, the higher the potential the offspring will receive.

Q: Do I need a Safari License before I can use the Tracker/Kart?
A: Yes.

Q: How do we get the Responsible Breeders Ribbon?
A: Be a responsible breeder. ;D

Q: How do I leave the group/transfer my pokemon to another group/change my username within the group?
A: Send the group a note with the necessary information!

Q: Can my trainer be ___?
A: Trainers can be anything from a human, anthro, or even a centaur, if you so desired.  The only rule comes into play when collecting exp in images.  Trainers must look like they could train pokemon.  No wolves running beside your ponyta and claiming that that's your trainer.

Q: I bought a pokemon/item from ___ and it's been a while since I paid.  They have yet to send me my pokemon/item, can I send proof to the group and they do it for me?
A: No, the group does not deal in member affairs like this.  If someone is not sending you their half of the deal that is something you must work out with them.  The only time the group will get involved is if you feel you (and others) are being scammed.  Then you can note the group and we will take the next steps.

Q: Can I draw my Pokémon in it's mega form?
A: Yes, so long as it appears that said Pokémon is battling or training.  If your poke is just hanging out in its mega form that will not be acceptable.

Q: What does the "A." before my pokemon's species name mean?
A:  This is how we identify a Pokémon as Alolan form.  We treat Alolans as their own species rather than a variant on the species.

Q:  How do I get an alolan form Pokémon?
A:  They appear just like any other Pokémon, however they are always identified with an "A." before their Pokémon species.

Q:  I have an A. Pichu, but pichu doesn't have an alolan form?
A:  Yes, this pichu will appear as a regular pichu, however, if you choose to evolve it into a Raichu then it will be an alolan for Raichu.

If you have any other questions you feel should be added to the FAQ, please say so on this journal!

Remember we always list pokemon as Species - M/F - Potential!
