* Exile - Though her exile was in part revoked by the Temple Elders, she still is not allowed back into the temple, this has given her great self reliance but has left her with much disdain over her lineage and the temple order that she refuses to note their importance and is angered by even the mention of the place.

Story So Far:
Kailia grew up as an acolyte in the Temple of Light however from a young age lacked the complacent and peaceful nature the temple encouraged. Often preferring action and force to solve problems. While not a bully to the other acolytes she did show up other troublemakers with force often resulting in punishment. Over the years the peaceful and passive nature of the temple would frustrate and annoy her. While the other acolytes learned creation and restoration magics, she found she had prowess in neither the power she possessed was that of destruction, light/sun magics. Her brutish and righteous nature would come to annoy and disgust the other monks of the temple and soon many refused to teach her any further. After an incident in which her magics caused the accidental harm of an upper ranking monk the temple had enough. She was sentenced to exile, no longer will her presence disturb the temples law. The incident also caused a schism with her parents whom wanted nothing to do with the "monster" they had up-brought. Her sister however fought to keep her in the temple but ended with Kailia stopping her insisting that she wanted nothing to do with a place as "disgustingly complacent" as the temple. Wanting no part in the customary ceremony of exile the following morning she decided to slip out at night rather than endure what she calls "their final act of humiliating her". Unexpectedly she was approached by the elder of the order, seeing this as an opportunity he insisted that rather than exile she would be his agent in the world. This would remove her from the temple but lift her banishment in his eyes. Interested she accepted and was granted the armor and rank of "Bearer of the Light". The temple will see her as an outcast but the the elder his agent. She currently heads to the war torn east to test her mettle in battle. It remains to be seen if her nature and values will be her guide or her downfall...

The world will see the light or be dragged into it, I need no temple nor parlay to achieve this. - Kailia

To :iconimprovement-club:: I would like advice on shading unless there are anatomy issue as well. Clothing folds and hands also seems to be a trouble spot as well.

Hello, I'm from the Improvement-Club I don't have time to do a draw over but I can do a quick written critique!

Neat character, I like the red and gold color scheme and the practicality of the armor! As for the shading I think it could be pushed overall to have a wider value range. The materials currently are all shaded the same, the metal parts of her armor should have a larger specular than the cloth bits. It helps to look up reference of similar materials to see how light reacts to them. The two circular objects on the right are a good reference for the small, bright highlights in metal www.proformpowderedmetals.com/…

As for the cloth, the shading looses a bit of the global lighting, but the over all spot shading looks nicely placed.

Small note on the anatomy, it feels awkward for her right hand to be holding the sword with it behind her, it would feel more natural if that sword was resting on the ground in front of her instead.

Hope that helps!
