San knows many techniques of her profession. Some may say a bit too well. Regardless, she does not take much satisfaction in high-risk but powerful techniques such as Hell Gate and Asura Strike. She gets her catharsis from making meaty and fast blows, and throwing her weight behind her attacks. Thus she has a wrestler's build - plenty of strength in the upper body and waist, thick thighs for support, and very muscular arms. Her main fighting style is to hit as fast and as hard as possible; her favoured techniques are the Sky Blow and the Dragon combo. She is also skilled with pressure points, although not lethally so.

As she has little to almost no fat under her skin, her build is lean and intimidating on its own. She is more top-heavy than most women for sure, but as she's unconcerned with appearances this isn't an issue for her. She is still recognisably female either way.

At first glance you'd think she'd make the most unlikeliest person to be Jinlong's friend. Well, you're not entirely wrong - considering how much she disliked him in the past, it's a surprise to know that she sees him as an equal now, and sometimes a figure to aspire to. He's not quite encouraging of the latter since he's aware he isn't a paragon of perfection, but she likes him enough despite his flaws, and encourages him to face them.

Her movements are physical and exaggerated. While Jin fills a corner the same way a chair does, she fills a room the same way a Hardrock Mammoth would. You know she's there, and you'll remember it because you just can't ignore her. 

Her straightforwardness often means she appears to lack tact, and her aggressiveness is bold. Not that this works in her favour - even for someone as street-smart as her, she gets into trouble and doesn't back down easily, thus often ending up in her getting into far more trouble than she actually realised she'd deserve. This is a result of her impulsiveness; she generally does not always think of the consequences, and has a natural rebellious streak. She is the kind of person who doesn't like to be told what not to do. Since hanging around Jin she's actually mellowed out a little, but this can still crop up at sudden moments. 

Despite her battering-ram approach to...well, a lot of things, she's genuinely a caring person and often utilises her presence to allow people to not feel lonely even when no one's talking. She often acts like a personal bodyguard for hire - hurt her friends and she will make sure you know she's nearby and watching you. While she is aware that her aggressiveness may be off-putting and tries to tune it down a bit, her impulsiveness and short temper make it difficult for her to remain consistent for long.

♥ H I S T O R Y

San has no idea where or when she was born, and who her parents were. Her earliest memories were of being brought up by a hermit who lived in a forest on his own. According to him, he had found both her and her brother as babies in the wood, and brought them home to bring them up. 

Regardless, it's not as if she minds much that she has a missing background. While she's certainly bothered that something had happened in her life and she can't remember it, she believes that if she's meant to know, she'd be led to find out. She has a feeling that she might get into trouble if she tried. 

After her brother and her became estranged, she headed off towards the city to find something to learn, bored by the forest. At length she discovered the monks and thus went to live and train with them. Over time she's learned to be more disciplined and less of a mischievous monkey, but her impulsiveness still needed work. It was her impulsiveness that resulted in her joining up with bandits after she finished her training as a monk. She is reticent on this topic and will not speak of it; the only remnant of that life is a strange tattoo on her back...

One day she was out during a heavy thunderstorm in a valley when she was caught in a landslide. Fortunately for her the landslide had occurred in close proximity to the Celestial Temple, and she was found by Jinlong (post-disability). Feeling humiliated at being found so vulnerable at such an insecure time in her life, she thought herself above them and tried to escape from the Temple while still recovering from the landslide. Jin stopped her out of concern for her injuries, but she challenged him to a fight, thinking it would be easy considering his disability.

When he won she was more than shocked, and let Jin take her back. Curiosity eventually followed, and she wanted to know how Jin trained himself to be that good despite his handicap. The Taekwon Master was more than willing to teach her, but on the condition that she never return to her life of thievery. She agreed, and for a few years spent time in the Temple. Her impulsiveness may still be sharp now, but it is definitely more regulated than it was back then. 

When Jin and Hyunji left the Temple for Prontera, San lived there for a while longer before she eventually decided to become a Champion. She then travelled far and wide for several years, mellowing out a little more despite her penchant for trouble. Eventually she became a Sura on her own, and finally decided that she would find Jin and Hyunji, and catch up with them. She ended up living with Jin for a while in his school, a bit of a freeloader given her wandering ways.

♥ H E A D G E A R

San generally does not wear headgear unless she goes out on a hot day. When she does, she wears a Sakkat.

She also has a Romantic Leaf, except she's had it for such a long time that it's not quite green and fresh anymore, and frankly considering how long it is it probably isn't a Romantic Leaf unless it ended up going through a wringer.

She also keeps a Jati Crown around. Despite not liking flashy and/or cute headgear, she makes this one an exception since it was a gift of gratitude from the people of Dewata after she helped them.

♥ W E A P O N

Her Lunakaligo deserves some mention. Actually, the fact that she bothers to use one, period. This is only when she's actually fighting monsters; she straps it to her back when she needs it. The Lunakaligo is threatening enough because it's cast iron and incredibly heavy. Strangely, she doesn't know how to fry.

She also uses a Stone Buckler (not shown). 

Outside of battle she uses just her plain old fists or, for added bite, the Horn of Hillslion claws. She's more likely to use these on people.

♥ A C C E S S O R Y

In her time as a Champion she rediscovered her faith and went on her own spiritual journey to understand herself. Much of it she doesn't talk about, and would really prefer never to say much about it considering she doesn't like butting in with her religious beliefs. Either way, she's known for carrying a Rosary, which is always around her neck. 

She also wears a Matyr's Leash as a bracelet (spikes removed, hidden under her armour).

♥ L I K E S

- Rum, whisky, brandy, malt...she likes most alcoholic drinks (see Dislikes). She can drink men twice her size under the table.
- Sleep.
- Dressing messily. If she gets the chance to, she will wander around in a loose robe and trousers and look slovenly as possible. Jin has an issue with this; they're currently sorting it out.
- Oranges. 

♥ D I S L I K E S

- Strongly dislikes beer ("no' enuff punch"), wine ("too fancy fer me"), and champagne ("wine fer wimps").
- Being called Lihna. See Her Name below. She will punch you if you think repeatedly calling her by her first name after she's warned you is cute.
- Bullies. This is from her bandit life, when she'd personally steal but never pushed her victims around. She can't stand watching the weak be used by the strong.
- Dressing formally. Finds it too stuffy for her.
- Dresses. Skirts either make her feel restricted or too "open". 
- Long hair. It makes her feel itchy and hot.

♥ F A M I L Y

Xilos San: Warg Ranger and estranged younger brother. San doesn't talk about him. If you ask her, she just curtly describes him as a "nature-loving, delusional hippie" and leaves it at that. There's some regretful/bitter implication in her tone that she wishes he wasn't what she describes him as.

♥ R E L A T I O N S H I P S

Jinlong Fa: San has seen Jin as a rival, a friend, a role model, an opponent...let's just say that both of them go a long way back, and as a result their entire relationship is based on a complex mixture of camaraderie, mentorship and a sufficient amount of healthy opposition. Through all of what they've been through together, both have found equal amounts of respect, care and compassion for each other. 

Myrri Hyeung: San does not know about Myrri as of yet.

Hyunji Lee: San started out frosty with Hyunji, but after she got used to the soul linker's motherly ways they got along better. While San was not as close to Hyunji as Jin is, she still considers Hyunji a good friend and does sometimes wish she would be around. San describes Hyunji as "the fire in the heart of a home".

Morine Nimbus: Didn't really like her when they first met, still doesn't really like her now. Something about needing gains in exchange for information just rubs San up the wrong way, especially considering the events of The Search for Hyunji Lee. She is somewhat suspicious of the mechanic and never trusts her fully as much as Jin trusts her, sometimes noting that "even the rain-bearing cloud is fickle and wanders wherever it pleases" too much for her to feel like taking Morine seriously.

- She is always known as San, never by her first name. See Her Name below.
- Her drawling accent is her unique way of talking. It's a mixture of weirdass accents from her entire life, and thus cannot be pinpointed to any region.
- She's not very good at reading or writing, but because Jin can't see she has to read his stuff for him. She is quite earnest at it, almost like a child eager to learn how to read properly.
- Jin thinks she comes from the Southern regions due to being naturally dark-skinned, but this is not confirmed. She herself doesn't know or remember.
- The tattoo on her back, obscured by her chest bindings, is a branding of Reinarde. All members of his band were required to get the tattoo. She covers it up to indicate that she's moved on from that life, but in general has no qualms about showing it if asked. 
- Her breasts are not large enough to get in the way, but she considers them a nuisance when she fights, so she just binds them anyway. She's not flat, just small-chested.
- San's moniker "Sun Biter" came from Jin, when she vowed to "bite the sun" in a drunken rave once (and he was so amused that he never let her live it down). He now uses it when he feels San is getting a bit too aggressive/boisterous, which helps remind her that she's getting silly and she should stop.
- Asexual.
- Believes in the same God of the Church.
- Hates running around barefoot due to the large amount of litter in urban areas, and tight pants are not her thing.
- Currently lives in Prontera with Jin.
- San's armour is made by the same blacksmith who did Jin's armour. 

Her Name

Lihna San will always introduce herself as San, and only will mention her first name if asked. In general she also prefers to be simply known as San. This is because at a young age she was constantly being told to be more "feminine" by the hermit that took her and her brother in, followed by some fairly restrictive attempts to make her more reserved. As a result, she mostly acts like she's got the permission to behave however she likes, even if she looks like a uncouth ruffian in the process.

She is not particularly appreciative of her first name since it makes her feel somewhat insecure in not being "womanly" enough (her attempts at it have mostly ended in disaster, being that she never hung around other women for most of her life and therefore did not have a role model or even any idea on social norms for women), and reminds her of her failures. Due to this she has great respect for people who don't judge her. 

Out of everyone she has met in her life, Jin has been the most accommodating person in regards to her tomboyish behaviour. He is also the solid wall to her aggressive bouncing - he is always the voice of reason to her as much as she is his voice of life. In a way, she sort of reminds him of how he behaved in the past, except that she's definitely less self-destructive than he was because she's well aware of herself more than she lets on. They both represent sides of each other that they either lost or would benefit having it a part of them, which is why they compliment each other well.
