Description

Three of the characters from my story, Shapeshifters. From left to right:

Polaris, garnet gem
Cyclone, sapphire gem
Minerva, alexandrite gem

So in this story wolves and humans are spiritually connected. Sometimes wolves are born as "Shifters", capable of turning into humans as well as two other random animals. They are given an assigned gem that no two living Shifters share as well as a special name chosen by the Fairies. They age like humans, only twice as fast (eight year-old shifter = 16 year-old human), and their other forms stay their same stage of physical maturity. Occasionally there are also human-born "Searchers", the only humans capable of communicating with the spirits of the dead and wolves, and they gain their abilities at about age 13.

The protagonist group is called "The Pack", consisting of all of the Shifters. Their base of operations depends on the location of the youngest Searcher so that the antagonist group, the Malevolence, does not corrupt him or her. Members of the Malevolent race are usually descendents of one Shifter gone rogue named Malevolent (hence the race's name). Not only was he dark-hearted, but he had an additional Shifter form: a hellhound beast. True Malevolent followers (that are not corrupted Shifters) have this form.

Minerva is the main protagonist in this story. She was born in a pack in the northern peninsula of Michigan but relocated to Ohio, where the Pack was protecting the newest Searcher. The other two wolves are Cyclone and Polaris, who were born in a pack in eastern Europe (Romania maybe?) and were relocated to the Pack after their pack was killed by hunters.

So... Yeah. Some stories o' mine.

I'm really proud of this drawing, which took for freakin' EVER to get done. I think I started it in September (completely digital by the way, no scanned sketches like usual) and just now got it done. I think the most difficult part of this drawing was Cyclone's tattoo. Don't ever make me design tribal tats again... I'm not really proud of the fact that I used I stock background but hey, it looks good! XD

Enjoy~
