IMPORTANT! 'Bookworm' Decisions

First and foremost, HAPPEE NUU YEERZ!!!~

Took me long enough to say it. >.<


ANYWAYS! Since school is back in session, and I actually need a little something called sleep in order to function, Self-Rescuing Princess updates will be slower than they were during break. So too with Bookworm. Be happy if I can get anything done over the weekends., because I know I will!

As for Bookworm, the main reason for this journal, I have hit a slight problem in the story. Research is fine, thank you Google, but I need to know what you guys think before I can progress any further.

Should I make Pirate!England a blood-thirsty scalawag like the typical pirate portrayal in movies like Treasure Island, or should I try for the privateer approach?
I'm stuck between the two.
With the black-hearted pirate captain idea, I could play a lot with trying to be sneaky all the time.
With the privateer approach, I think I could play with rivaling country!pirates and non-country pirates alike more differently than usual.
And either way, we're going to have some interesting interactions with the Royal Navy.

So, what do you think, lovelies? Should Pirate!England be the dark and gruff pirate, or the slightly more refined, though just as dangerous (if not more so) privateer?
