Terms of Service

THE PROCESS
•Application: Send me a message with all the details of the piece you'd like to order. Don't forget to include whatever descriptions, reference images or links you think I might need to get it right! If you want more than one piece done, it's best if you send a separate message for each one. If you order an adult-oriented commission, I'll need confirmation that you're over eighteen years old before I can start work on the piece.
•Confirmation: I’ll send a confirmation letter with some clarifying questions if they’re needed and a quote for the cost of the project.
•Initiation: Once the quote is agreed upon, I can send an invoice and begin working. Invoices are sent through PayPal, so I'll require your PayPal address and your currency payment preference between $USD and $CAD. Orders of under $40 are to be paid in one installment, but orders over $40 can be paid in two.
•Communication: When I have a rough sketch of your piece, I'll send it along for your review. You can give me input about corrections, adjustments, that sort of thing. It'll be your last chance before I move on to the final. If there's nothing to fix, please still send a response so I know you approve of the design.
•Illustration: At this stage I work on producing the final. You can request updates on how things are going, and I'll send over the work-in-progress.
•Conclusion: When I'm finished, I'll send you a thumbnail image as proof that the piece is finished. When you receive it, send the rest of the payment owing, if any. When I receive that, I'll ship over two copies of the image: one high-res (2000px on the long side), the other more display-friendly (1200px long). .jpg or .png files are available to your preference.

ON PAYMENT
I accept payment through Pay Pal in $CAD and $USD.
If you cancel the commission before I begin initial sketches, it's a full refund. If you cancel while I'm working on the initial sketches, I'll refund 90% of the total fee. If you cancel while I'm working on the final, I'll refund 50% of the total fee. If there's a reason that I can't finish the piece, I will refund your total deposit.

ON USAGE
These are for personal, noncommercial use. Print one out for your wall, share it with your friends, but don't sell them to someone else or publish them without my permission. If you'd like to post them up to your own gallery, please use the smaller resolution display version. In the description of the piece, do please credit me (it would be appreciated of you could post some links back to my gallery, too).

If you'd prefer to hire me for commercial freelance work, you can contact me along the same channels provided below.

ON PRIVACY
I'll post the finished work to my Deviantart gallery and Tumblr blog. If you'd rather not have your name on it as credit for commissioning, I'll list you as anonymous. If you do want your name on it, you can opt whether to not to have links back to your own web page. If you'd prefer to keep the commission private, I will refrain from posting the piece. I may decide not to post every order I fill.
