What is it like to be a part of the senior hut? How do you feel about receiving the Medal? How did you receive the news?

I saw it immediately on checking dA in the morning.
I've been on dA for a while, but most people that I know who've received the medal next to their names are incredible movers and shakers - and an inspiration. It's humbling to realize that someone thought highly enough of me to recommend me to staff.
What's it like? Well, the superpowers are pretty cool: I seem to have gained the ability to control the direction in which water swirls down the drain, a black-belt mastery over wiggling my ears, and the power to make my dog allergic to grass. I'm not a fan of having to shave off five inches of curly mustache every morning, though.

I see you are a part of Deviant-Mentor as Digital Art mentor. What it is like to be a mentor? How do you help out deviants to improve their art skills? :)

I've never taken any art classes, so everything I know about drawing comes from tutorials, art videos, and staring at some of the breathtaking art on dA and thinking, "Hey, I wanna do that too." I'm still working on that whole making-epic-art goal of mine, but I also believe in the importance of being part of a learning community here at deviantART. Mentorship for both mentees and mentors is about growing skills and in confidence, and the groups on dA like Deviant-Mentor have some incredibly skilled artists whose brains are there for the picking and pickling. If someone sees my work and thinks, "hey, this person could give me some tips," I want to make myself open to that.
And since good karma things come in threes, I'm also going do a quick and impromptu shoutout to two other rock-star groups I'm involved in that have helped me grow in art: There's Improvement-Club where members submit and redline each other's works while winning points, and SpeedpaintStudies that challenges its artists every month to do a two-hour speedpaint study on a specific theme.
Anyway, forget about me. Stop by and check these groups out.

About those "superpowers" seniors are thought to have, which superpower would you really love to have and why?

Before I got a cat, I thought the coolest superpower would be to talk to animals. Nowadays, I'm pretty sure I don't want to know what my pets think about me. The strategically-placed furballs on my pillow are pretty clear. Message sent and received.
Flying and breathing underwater are two powers at the top of my list nowadays. Just no gills or feathers, please. Those would just make my morning commute uncomfortable.

What project are you looking forward to doing in the future here on DeviantArt?

Recently, I've gotten into photography - fancy camera, a couple lenses, the works. I've been posting the photos to one of my old accounts for feedback and critique; it's incredibly exciting to know so little about an art form. I'm learning in huge leaps every day.

Beyond that is my long-standing goal of figuring out this whole digital art and drawing thing. :B

Thank you very much for the interview! Do you have anything you wish to share with us? Any Last words?

Oh gosh. The high-pressure open-ended question.
Uhm, only that I hope that if you're reading this interview, you'll stop by and say hi. I love meeting new people and seeing new art and commenting on it. Leave me a comment with a link to your latest project - I'd love to see what you're up to.
PS. Oh and if you happen to see my cat, tell her all is forgiven, but she can't come home until she promises to stop chewing through my power cords.
