Player Select: Prinnies VS Penguins of Madagascar

The prinnies debuted in the strategy game Disgaea in 2003. They have appeared in several other game series, and starred in the platform game Prinny:Can I Really Be the Hero? which introduced the Hero Prinny.
The prinnies resemble penguins, but they are in fact human souls sewn into suits, complete with beaks, peg legs and batwings. These suits are not very efficient at containing the souls as prinnies explode when struck with a strong enough force.
As prinnies they must work to redeem themselves in order to be reincarnated. The prinnies have a ranking system; those with higher ranks have different colors and abilities. They carry various kinds of weaponry in their pouches including blades and bombs, but some use the prinnies' explosive properties in battle by throwing them at the enemy. The Hero Prinny wears a red scarf which keeps it from exploding and there are also prinnies with demon souls that do not explode.

The Penguins of Madagascar first appeared in the animated film Madagascar in 2005. They later starred in their own TV series and movie.
The penguins are quite militaristic: Kowalski (top) is the second-in-command and the brains of the troop, capable of making various devices out of whatever is at hand, Rico, their weapons expert, (second from the top) is somewhat unhinged and his stomach is capable of storing objects of unfeasible size, which he then regurgitates as required, Skipper (second from bottom) is the leader of the group and Private (bottom) is the rookie.

The prinnies and the penguins both have fighting skills and an eclectic arsenal, but the prinnies greatly outnumber the penguins. The penguins best chance is probably their propensity to get out of the most bizarre situations in the most outlandish manner; facing a mob of undead penguin-like foes that explode when hit hard enough is possibly the most bizarre  situation of them all.
