Description

Want an example of how to do it right? Check out last year's winners!

Contest co-hosted by MikiBandy and :iconwalfas-club:

General Guidelines and Tips:
-No admin approval required, but non-contest entries will be deleted. Affiliates may enter without admin approval. If you're in Walfas Club 1, Walfas Club 2, or any groups affiliated with us, you may enter! (NoteBucktoothanned members cannot participate, though it may be possible to appeal it to the contest runner.)
-You may enter more than one entry, but only your best entry will be judged: this is to keep people from monopolizing the awards. Three entries maximum! This is to keep judging time down.
-Judging will be done by both admins and users. Winners are based on general votes with no weight between admin/membership status: basically, a vote is a vote.
-If you don't win, it's not the end of the world: there's always more contests and you can always improve. Also, the more you comment of other people's entries, the more likely they are to see your comic, so please leave comments on each of the entries.
-Label your entries by category. You don't want your drama entry ending up in comedy, do you? Also, feel free to make comics that bridge multiple categories if possible. (Fun fact: we learned this the hard way last year from this very contest. Thankfully, we know better now.)
-Don't reupload something you already made as a contest entry. Please make Contest-specific entries since each contest has its own rules, categories, and metagame to teach people about storytelling/creativity.
-No biting.

Contest-Specific Rules:
-You don't have to use the whole song. Just use enough to make a comic.
-It does not have to be a song in English, but please translate the lyrics.
-There is no maximum length requirement, but single panel comics are not recommended. The point is to elaborate on the musical lyrics, and one verse won’t be enough.

Winning Categories:
-Best Touhou Comedy
-Best Touhou Drama/Tearjerker
-Best Touhou Horror
-Best Non-Touhou Comedy
-Best Non-Touhou Drama/Teajerker
-Best Non-Touhou Horror
-The Nazrin Mouse Award: Best Use of a Non-Frozen Disney Song (We've had enough Frozen entires last year.)
-The Weird Al Challenge: Best use of a Weird Al Yankovic song.
-Best Non-English Song
-Best Music Video: Best video entry.
-BEST OVERALL: The combined votes + audience vote.

Looking for an additional challenge? Enter your comic into the Advanced Tier. The Advanced Tier is reserved for those who have won landslide victories in the previous Contests. If there are more than three entries in the Advanced Tier, we'll run an additional Advanced Tier contest bracket.

You may also enter "Exhibition Entries", which are ineligible to win the contest, but if they of decent quality, they are automatically copied into the Comics folder upon the completion of the contest. Just mark your comic as an "Exhibition Entry" in the description where you would normally put the nominatable categories. (WARNING: Once it's labeled as an Exhibition Entry, it is no longer eligible to win. You cannot change your mind once it's marked as an Exhibition Entry, so only label it if you truly do not wish to participate in the contest.)

When you say "only your best entry will be judged", how is that decided, specifically?
