A few weeks later than usual, but here I present my 7th annual traditional art feature of artworks submitted in the year of 2014!
I must admit, in the previous years I easily found twice, trice more artworks to feature and this year I have so few. I actually struggled to find a couple of dozen more so the collection is not so drastically smaller compared to previous years. Aside from other reasons,I'm guessing the main one is that a whole bunch of my favorite artists, artists I consider the best, are creating much less than they used to per year/they're not active on dA anymore/etc.
From all kinds of features I make, this one's the most difficult and time consuming one to make, as well as the one I'm never really satisfied with: how does one decide which artworks to include in this little collection when, just from a small part of the most amazing works dA is filled with you have the luck to find and see each year, you have at least a few hundreds of favs!
Each artwork was chosen by different combination of the following "criteria":
general impression • technique • quality • style • idea/concept • subject • incredible (photo/hyper) realism • pure awesomeness • composition • originality • complexity • other
