Ozwald Reference

Ozwald is my planned character for the upcoming Cascade Cabaret OCT and an excellent example of where my mind goes after reading Lovecraft.

Powers:

Ozwald is the gateway to a multitude of singular pocket dimensions that serves as prisons for many monsters, aberrations, eldritch horrors and old gods. His clothing keeps the doors of that gateway closed. However, his open sleeves serve as portals through which he can summon up the hands, arms or limbs of any creature trapped inside him. The powers and abilities he gains from these hands varies from creature to creature, but they aren't very powerful as they are only hands. Ozwald maintains complete control over the hands he summons and can use them as his own. More information on his hands can be found here.

If any other portion of Ozwald's clothing is opened or torn, more limbs or pieces of creatures can come through, at the expense of having less control over them.

The heart patch on Ozwald's jacket is what grants him control of the summoned limbs. If the patch is removed, his heart is replaced by that of a trapped creature and his actions will be controlled by that creature until the heart is replaced.



Biography:

Ozwald, was born human and made to be the gateway to a multidimensional prison at a young age. His memory of this event is lost. Being the gateway has kept him alive for 70 years, but has also made him an outcast. He has spent much of his life hiding from people, and is very shy when confronted. His only friends are the trapped creatures inside of him, whom he speaks to often.


Personality:

Having been abandoned by humanity from a young age, Ozwald, never grew up mentally and retains a child-like mind. He is shy and non-confrontational, but has a kind heart and is generous to anyone who shows him kindness back. He will blindly trust anyone who is nice to him and is gullible. However, in times of stress he betrays a mental acuity and rage of a far more mature mind.

Strengths:

- Ozwald's many hands are versatile due to the varying forms.
- Ozwald's body is not all there, making him light and nimble.

Weaknesses:

- Gullible
- Terrified of sharp edges that may cut open his clothing
- Can't use his powers if his sleeves are pinned shut
