NEXT JUDGING: SUNDAY 25th October- Australian Time Zone
Weather: Spring- Spring is in the air! Flowers are blooming, blossoms cover the trees in sweet-scented beauty. The grass is green and the sky is blue- not too hot, and not too cold! The ground is coated in sweet due in the mornings, and the sun sets with the soft hum of crickets and a warm breeze.
Aspen Isles Stables, with its vast open spaces and beautiful settings, has decided to bring money and popularity to the stable by holding a small weekly event. We are starting the Historical Reenactment Equestrian Club. The group will get together each week to celebrate horses in history, and to hold a modernised, fun competition that everyone can enjoy!
Every week, on a Sunday, classes will be RNG judged, and one special prize- the champion- will be given out to a particularly spectacular entrant.
RULES:
Weather will change each week! Please fit your drawings into the current weather of the week, or wait until a week has the weather of your drawing.
All breeds are welcome! This includes canine and feline breeds, if you believe they fit the categories
Linearts are not allowed. All entries must be made specifically to be a show entry!
Entries can be fullbody, headshot or partial-body. Please note that the more effort you put in, the more likely you are to win the champion prize!
Shading/backgrounds/stories are optional- however, the images should not be sketches, and should be fully-coloured
You may enter more than one character in one image, but you must clearly label in the description which horses are in which events etc.
Single characters may enter in multiple events, but cannot enter twice in one event.
Images depicting your character acting up or doing something wrong will not lower the chance of winning.
Do not include images with overly sexual or gory nature.
You may enter for someone else's horse eg. in the case of YHHs.
Animals may be leased/borrowed for this event.
Entries will be judged each Sunday (Australian Time Zone) or when a class is filled.
There will be no ghost entrants. This encourages people to try out the more difficult classes, rather than picking the easiest ones or the ones without a handler.
I can enter, and I can win the RNG roll. I do have to abide by all rules though, so please call me out if you think I break any.
There is space for 5 entries a week, currently.
All entries must have the following form filled out in the description:
Show: Link to this journal

Entrants: Please include link to reference, and feel free to add name of rider, if applicable.

Mounted Archery:
Entries must show both mount and handler. Handler may be faceless, but cannot be a stick-figure.
Set on a track alongside the aspen forest, a rider must ride the track of about 120 metres, and shoot at a series of targets on the left hand side of the track. Some of these targets may be set back into the trees, or on the trees themselves. The rider will require use of 2 hands while riding, so mounts must be trained to run in a straight line at steady speed with no reign contact. They should also be desensitized to the sound of bows.
While there are no rules on attire, the club encourages riders to come dressed to the theme, and encourages them to present their animals accordingly.
Entries must show any of the following: rider on the mount, standing with bow; riding along the track; riding and taking aim; riding arrow flying. Please comment if you have another idea you would like to try!

Jousting:
Entries must show both mount and handler. Handler may be faceless, but cannot be a stick-figure.
Keeping as close to the traditional sense as possible, while still remaining as safe as possible for both horse and rider. Safety of both is taken very seriously. Both mount and rider need to wear protective equipment. Jousting lances are tipped with a soft ball to prevent injury, and mount and rider must wear eye protection of some form, whether it be a cage of some form over the eyes or more traditional armour.
Steel plating (grand guard www.outfit4events.com/runtime/…) is attached to the left shoulder of the rider, and the opponent aims to make contact with this plate to earn a point. Each rider must carry a shield.

Entries must show any of following: mount dressed in costume, handler leading mount; mount and rider charging along fence.

Reenactment Endurance Run:
Entries must show both mount and handler. Handler may be faceless, but cannot be a stick-figure.
A bit more fun that actual reenactment, mounts and riders in decorative (while still safe and practical) tack and attire compete in a short endurance ride. Costumes and attire can be from any historical period, which can lead to some funny looking groups of running together! Mounts will require some protective equipment depending on species/breed, such as leg protection or weather protection.
Entries must show any of following: mount dressed in costume, riding through forest or field. Can include falls, incidents or other animals. etc.

Medieval Hunt:
NO ANIMALS ARE HARMED IN THIS ACTIVITY.
Entries must show both mount and handler. Handler may be faceless, but cannot be a stick-figure.
The medieval hunt begins at the stable centre. Individuals must have a mount and a hunting companion. Horses are good examples of mounts, and dogs are good examples of hunting companions, though other species are allowed for both.
The competitors will leave the stable centre and follow their hunting companion's senses through the aspen forest at Aspen Isles Stable. (Aspen trees: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Populus_… please take note of season)
There are 3 target "deer" in the forest. These wooden mock deer are strongly scented to allow the hunting companion to track them, and each has a coloured ribbons (red, green and blue) tied to the horns, enough for each rider to take one. Visual clues for riders are also displayed throughout the forest, such as coloured ribbons or signs on trees to point them in the right direction.
The first rider back with three ribbons is the winner. Riders found taking extra ribbons will be immediately disqualified.
Dogs and other companions must be well trained and not dog-aggressive toward others.
While there are no rules on attire, the club encourages riders to come dressed to the theme, and encourages them to present their animals accordingly. Leg protection and weather protection for animals is also recommended.

Owed Payments- Please Read!
Hey everyone! Thanks firstly to all of those who have been waiting an eternity for art payments. I know of most of my art payments and trades, but I'd like to form a list on my computer with clean links and clear goals so I know exactly what I need to do! Plus, I'm sure I've forgotten some things!
Since I'm moving to my new account in a couple of days I need to write a clarified list, plus gaps where I can do personal art breaks. So just let me know!

Not sure if I caught this but are tokotas allowed? If so it would be possible to get the event group sanctioned (you'd get extra prizes too! plus a lot of attention )
Group-Sanctioned Events and PrizesSo you want to host a show revolving around or including Tokotas? You've come to the right place. Below you can find exactly how to do so, the prizes you can offer, and how to collect them from the group.
How do I get my show sanctioned, and how might I get prizes for it?
It's very simple. Anyone can start and judge a show, you don't need any special permission for it either. All you need to do is make sure you have a journal with a clear description of classes, rules, and a deadline. Submit it to the group's "Member held competitions" folder.
However, you might not want to stop there if you're interested in extra incentive for members to join your show. The group will offer a certain amount of free items to be used as prizes for your show, free of charge. To get these, send a note to the group titled "Competition Rewards Request" with a link to your show journal.
