Creych live along the edges of rocky deserts, preferring deep canyons and ravines, in prides of ten or twelve females, with one male and often two submales. They are very swift and agile, and their stealth leaves nothing to be desired, actually able to chameleon into the rocks.

Creych stand about 5-6 feet at the shoulder, females being closer to 6 or 6.5 feet. Their thick body is wiry and muscle packed, their legs double jointed, enabling them to scale walls like a squirrel. Feline in appearance, thick scales cover their hide, protecting them from other predators as well as soaking up the sun, providing them with the energy required to chameleon. Their long tail is more flat than a feline’s, thickly furred on the bottom. A Creych’s spine has larger plates running down it, which flatten into the tail, giving them a wide spade that allows them to slam it in defence, as well as a signal while hunting.

Due to their plates, a creych’s body mass is enormous, easily weighing up to 4000 lbs. Males often use this weight to try to slam their opponents into the ground or walls of the canyons. The tail is brought forward as a paddle, to knock their opponent off kilter and finish them with tooth and claw.

Males have a special scent gland that is highly toxic and used as a border marker. Creych have venom glands just behind their fangs, a slow-acting paralytic poison that numbs the muscles and relaxes them completely, ensuring easier take down of prey. Both venoms are often harvested as a local poison and medicinal aide. The venom gland acts as a toxin to relax muscles, easing pain, while the male’s scent gland can be used in poisons for weapons.
