These rules are subject to interpretation by the HorseArt-RPG admin staff. Submissions not covered in the guidelines below may be handled on a case-by-case basis. Has it been a few days and your submission hasn’t been accepted? Check to make sure you’re in line with the rules below!

:bulletorange: We do not accept art using non-stock photography as reference.
This means when you use a non-stock photo and copy it, not when you use it for general research on how certain details look/move. Click here for more information on what counts as a stock reference and why this rule is in place.

:bulletorange: We will not accept any Pay-to-View content such as premium content or subscription-based content.

:bulletorange: We will not accept art generated by AI. That includes backgrounds.

- There are far too many AI art generators that use various methods of collecting data with or without an individual artist's consent. Because of this, we will not be accepting AI generated art into the galleries as we cannot trace in full faith where the data has been collected or if the creator used art without an artist's permission to mimic. This does not coincide with what the HARPG group encourages.
    - Perhaps, in the the future, we will accept specific generators but as of now, there are no generators that we will accept art from.

:bulletorange: These rules only apply to submitting art to this group.
How you create your art and play the game outside the group’s gallery is entirely up to you. We are NOT a registry. Your horse’s reference doesn’t need to be in the group for you to submit its other art or to participate in group activities. The gallery’s sole purpose is to showcase the members’ art and help people meet others in the community.

Traditional/digital art, detailed manipulations, original sculptures, and literature are all accepted to the gallery. Traced art is fine. Art must be:
    -  HARPG-related (not just general horse art)
    - Made by you (not reuploaded commissions, submitting a deviation from another user’s account)
    - Finished (finished sketches are fine, no WIPs)

:bulletorange: Link/credit any specific references used in the description of your work. Include actual links when possible, otherwise it's very difficult for us to check. If you’ve only used photos for minor parts or general research, or no refs at all, please let us know either in the description or as a comment on the group correspondence form. Submissions without this info will not be accepted.

:bulletorange: Art made with premade/reused linearts is not accepted, with one exception:

  • The main image of a horse in its ref sheet should be new original art (not reused/premade lines). If you wish to show the horse’s opposite side as well, you can flip and reuse the first lineart or a premade lineart for this purpose. You may use premade backgrounds or “reference sheet templates” as well. However, the main image must be originally drawn and should clearly be the main focus.

Accepted to the sales folder:
- Horses with complete info and their own uniquely drawn art
- Pedigreed sale foals that have complete info and unique art
- Drawn stud or brood sheets and non-commercial “Available for Breeding” journals (i.e. list preexisting horses open for non-commercial breeding)
- Sales journals may contain designs if the majority of the other horses sold fall into the above categories
- ”Looking for”- journals focused on real breed purchases or breedings, RP partners, and similar gameplay-focused searches (for created breeds, please refer to that breed’s group instead).
- Originally drawn, finished tack sets for sale. Tack may be displayed on a premade horse base but the tack itself should be unique lines.
- Complete and originally drawn stable maps/designs for sale
- Raffles for any of the above (free-to-enter; pay-to-enter are lotteries, which deviantArt doesn't permit at all)

Not accepted to the sales folder:
- Commission ads or YHHs
- Adoptables/designs/breed imports
- Horses drawn with reused lines
- Anthros, non-equine species, or non-HARPG OCs
- ”Slot sales” or commercial breeding journals (i.e. point or cash sales)
- Raffles for things that wouldn’t otherwise be accepted
- Pay-to-View content such
as premium content or subscription-based content

We do accept breed sheets; limit one submission per breed, please (in other words, stick to the main info sheet, rather than submitting every color/detail sheet). References must still be credited.

Please keep submission content family-friendly, and be respectful and supportive towards other members and their art!

I just want to clarify that we cannot submit commissioned equine references (for less fine-artsy people who commission them) even if they link the credited artist?
