Fractal Art Week

Hello everyone from heavenriver, with my hopes that you all are enjoying the Fractal Week!

Today, we'll be looking at yet another long-term UF artist, and one that has an incredibly personal style at that: FarDareisMai!

Map of the New World by FarDareisMai

One can tell at first glance, by looking at her fractals, that these are examples of fractal art far beyond the usual. But what is so peculiar and unique about her style?

For one thing, she doesn't have just one: the previous picture is one of her canvas-style UF works, which wisely combines the empty space in the fractal insides with the striped, intricate and contrasting colours of the outside, and that's one skill few UF users have mastered - that of being able to work with Inside and Outside colouring simultaneously...

...But it isn't just that: in so doing, she also manages to balance the components so well, one should almost be talking about bending the fractal formulas to her own will. There are works that express a feeling of calm and complete stillness, and then masterpieces of dynamics and contrast. She knows what she wants from each composition, and she is fully capable of GETTING it.

But that's not all! She fares incredibly well at giving a whole new spin on classic fractal styles as well. For example, while the gnarl right below might have a shape that is not too unlike most other gnarls, her work with colouring, framing and texturing has made it seem like deeply cut wood, distinctly moving from the lower left side to the upper right, in a well-paced, regular progression.

At this point, you should also have noticed her undying love for detail, which shows in countless works of hers, if not all; no matter the base formula, FarDareisMai never fails to bring the life out of the mathematics, giving birth to breathtaking works that any eye would easily get lost in, the kinds of works that you wish you could look at for eternity, and even if you did, you would fail to grasp all of the intricate patterns in them.

Despite not having used UF for as long as many of its experts have, she has undoubtedly managed to find her very own, rich niche within the community, and there is much more to see in her gallery than the eye meets in this article. Go look at the rest of her work, and be sure it will be more than worth your time!
