Texture Pack #1

My first texture pack!  

Textures are wonderful for adding some "pop" to your artwork, whether it be for a simple object placed inside a drawing, or used as part of a shaped background like a star for example, as well as for the whole drawing itself. It can help to add that touch of realism (and fun!) to that piece of art that may need it.

These were all photographed by me, either around my home or outdoors. They are pretty basic textures, with no extreme color variations applied. I wanted to keep them simple in appearance, but hopefully someone out there will still find them useful.

These in particular are all sized at 3264 x 1836, and are in high-quality .jpeg format. They are totally free to use however you like.. no credit is required. If you'd like to tell me where you used them, just let me know in the comments below. If not, that's fine too.. just remember to have fun! I only ask that you do not claim them as your own. I appreciate it.. thanks!

For those unaware on how to use textures: Simply drag the texture file into an open document and it will automatically be placed onto its own layer. After that, place the texture layer between whichever layers you like, or on top. Then, play around and experiment with the layer settings to find whichever style you like best. I usually use either 'Multiply', 'Overlay', or 'Divide'. Keep in mind I'm referring to Photoshop and not SAI, GIMP, or any others. Unfortunately I don't know much at all about them, but I can only imagine they are similar in their features. Nevertheless, if there's a question that comes up about these, please ask! I will do my best to help.
