Hello everyone! We hope your first week of April was excellent, that all of your NaPo/NaNo related things are going as you had hoped, and that no one was fooled too badly on the 1st! Welcome everyone to the second week of Beauty in Raw Humanity x NaPoWriMo 2015! We had a great first week with a pleasantly surprising turnout from some truly fantastic artists so we wanted to give those folks a really quick shout-out. Thank you so much to NocturnalissMagicalJoey, scripted-silence, fiercestrawberry, RoseScarlet, Daghrgenzeen, and skullhips for all participating in the first week of our unofficial crossover with NaPoWriMo. Of course, I also want to thank our very own admins for participating as well, so another big round of applause for LadyOfFrost, DynamiteHearts, and crystallized-skies for participating so far, too!

And here's a reminder for those of you who don't know, NaPoWriMo is all about writing poetry! 1 poem a day for the next 30 days! And here at BeautyInRawHumanity we thought with this great event beginning in April that this is the perfect time for another post to get some great literature going. For the next four weeks we're going to have 7(+2) prompts to cover the entirety of National Poetry Writing Month 2015! And with each journal after this concerning more prompts, we will also feature the best two pieces submitted to the group from the prior week.

And speaking of last week, here are two of our favorite pieces from our own NaPoWriMo submissions from Week 1:
day 1: negation.I am not your damsel in distress.
My skin is no longer the milky white alabaster of a flawlessly sculpted statue,
too afraid to jump out the tower she built herself because she knew she would shatter.
My skin is the soft amber of a human girl who lost her wings,
                                                                   dived into the ocean,
and spent more than one too many days swimming this newfound freedom,
but more than two short of enough.
I am not your trophy, your jeweled treasure chest.
My hair is not an abundant waist-long waterfall of melted gold,
and I am not the size 0 I used to so blatantly long for.
My body is plain, unadorned.
I stand tall with my head held high.
Because I am not your one night stand.
My lips are not the soft pink of dawn,
they are the&

We'd love for all of our members to be invested in this project too so if you have any prompts as it relates to this group's movement for future NaPo prompt journals, please do share with us!

(Please note: You don't have to use our prompts to submit to our NaPoWriMo 2015 folder. As long as it relates to BeautyInRawHumanity's movement as a whole and is stated that it was written for the purpose of National Poetry Writing Month 2015, we still accept your submissions.)

Here's the BeautyInRawHumanity folder where you can submit your NaPoWriMo related lit: BIRH x NaPoWriMo 2015

And here are our second set of prompts for the first week of NaPoWriMo 2015:
1. Rest and Relaxation
2. Favorite Memory
3. Inhale confidence, exhale doubt.
4. Your rock (what is your foundation, who/what do you depend on, what keeps you steady, etc.)
5. Scars
6. Grace, Fall, Move
7. "The mind is a perfect servant, but a terrible master." (Can be interpreted or used directly.)

And our very own introverted-ghost is also on board with deviantART's official NaPoWriMo page (NaPoWriMo) so please go check those guys out as well for more prompts too!

There's also a sort of side project going for National Poetry Writing Month that I am personally apart of over at gliitchmonth! With the same intentions as NaPoWriMo (writing 1 poem a day for the month of April), we want to push the boundaries of poetry in a dynamic direction, to encourage people to write outside of the box and in different ways so go on over there to see the 10 prompts currently up! Shout-out to my good friends in gliitchlord for making it an "official" thing and AyeAye12 for starting this beautiful accident in the first place.

On the topic of friends, here are a few of their journals on Week 2 of National Poetry Writing Month '15:
about thisget inspired to write, based on some atypical themes. rules were made to be distorted. don't hold back. experiment.
contributors get a folder to showcase their works (unless that becomes unsustainable and then we will figure it out)
everything about this is developing dynamically. we'd love to have you be a part of it.
write on.
NaPoWriMo: Prompting With Disney Music! #2    I thought since I had so much fun making the last compilation of music, and that it seemed to have some effect, that I would make another list! This time, not songs which are on my 'Grooviest Jams' playlist, but songs from movies near and dear to many of our hearts. Oh Disney, what beautiful vocals you brought into your films in your era a glory. What beautiful voices like Tony Jay's Hell Fire, which comes from a movie which is from some reason rated G when Frozen as rated PG.
...Does burning women alive seem more family friendly than freezing them? :?
NaPoWriMo: Prompting With Music! #2
1. Oliver And Company - Why Should I Worry

2. The Lion King 2 - My Lullaby

3. Anastasia - In the Dark of the Night

Week 2 Prompts!
Welcome to Week 2! I hope your first Week of NapoWriMo has been going well :la:
Quick Reminder: The gallery folder for week 2 should be open as of tonight for you to submit your poems for days 8-14! Please don't forget to include the day/number in your author's description as well as indicating that it's for NaPoWriMo.
Also:
1. We do not accept any deviations that have more than one poem/day at once. I know many of you don't want to spam your followers, but we have come across deviations that have over a weeks worth of poems in one sitting. Which would make it annoying to figure out where to put it. So, unfortunately those types of deviations will not be accepted.
Also, we're still looking for prize donations for the winner's pool! Anything from points, comments, llamas, features, etc. are very welcome, so send a note over to Medoriko if you'd like to donate. Here is the update of prizes:

(You can also find the official site for National Poetry Writing Month 2015 here: NaPoWriMo 2015)

But of course, we can't leave out another going-on in April and that's Camp NaNo! For the more prose-inclined, known that is also going on right now, so if you're participating in that, let us know in the comment section below! And if you see anyone else participating in Camp NaNo (or if you're brave and doing both NaPoWriMo 2015 AND Camp NaNo), chat 'em up!

(You can find the official site here: Camp NaNoWriMo)

We hope you have a blast with the NaPo x NaNo happenings around deviantART and we really hope to see you guys participate here at BeautyInRawHumanity!

And finally, a very important heads up for those of you interested in this group but haven't been able to write anything here for more personal reasons, please do remember that we have our alt account BIRHindTheScenes that is completely anonymous and safe for those who'd like to write something more personal but not necessarily want the world to know. We believe in the importance of a first step and if there's anyone who'd like to write a personal piece with complete anonymity, this would be the place to go to. To submit something, simply send us what you would like to post or link us with the st.ash as well as a description (If you so choose) and we will post it for you completely anonymously. We've actually already had one submission a few months ago that you guys can read here:

Looks like I didn't do too well guessing what this week's prompts would be after all. Dangit. :grump: I managed to get poems written for all last week's prompts, at least, in between skiing.
