Katherine's parents made her take up Karate for years when she was younger as a self-defense measure. Although the time she spent training wasn't enough to make her an expert in said martial art, through her experiences with her siblings and friends she picked up a couple of techniques from them, which made her develop a mixed street-fighting style.

Her past training also enabled her to withstand hits for longer and gave her a higher tolerance to pain.

✼Adept in handling melee weapons:

Her martial arts lessons allowed her to use tonfa quite skillfully, reason why she mainly uses these as her main weapon. She can also fight with brass knuckles or small daggers if needed, though she's not really good with them. She also likes improvising weapons whenever she's in a difficult situation (Ex. Using a nearby pole, tiles from the floor, etc), though that doesn't always work on other people...

• Personality

Kind and generous, Katherine has always liked treating people with kindness even if they're not nice to her at first. She believes everyone deserves a chance to get known better, thus isn't usually led by prejudices or stereotypes. Yet, as sociable and happy-go-lucky as she may seem, due to her extreme honesty she often appears quite blunt and straight-forward, something which makes her 'likeable' side go down the drain. Kat means no harm by this...Most of the time. When angered, her bluntness usually turns into insults and curses; basically a plain rude behaviour. She developed this habit after running from home, so as to give a tough appearance to anyone who could possibly mean a threat.

Katherine is extremely loyal and devoted to those whom she considers close, but getting to that point is specifically hard, for her friendly disposition can sometimes turn into a mere façade to achieve her goals. She hates liars and 'fake' people, yet in this sense she can be quite hypocrite: Manipulative and cunning at times, Katherine puts up a charming and innocent front to get what she wants. This doesn't mean she doesn't realize that what she's doing is wrong; most of the time she even ends up regretting this false demeanour.

Despite this, she always shows a cheerful side, displaying a childish and air-headed attitude towards the people she's fond of, and once befriended, her resolution to protect them won't waver if someone intends to hurt them.

• Background Information

Katherine Bijoux had a rather normal life in the monotone city of Silverlight. Her modest family consisted in her parents, a gentle elder sister, a cheery older brother and herself. Although her father was a policeman, the family's day-to-day wasn't anything out of the ordinary; if something, the adults were just a bit strict on the children when it came to their studies and extracurricular activities, especially those which involved learning self-defense techniques.

Katherine didn't have any problems when it came to relationships: She was quite open and sociable, attributes that she unconsciously picked up from her sister and brother respectively, though she was a bit of a spoiled child due to her being the youngest in family.


The balanced and joyful life of the Bijoux family remained the same until a certain day, where it all came to an end by a simple and innocent decision.

The youngest of the siblings, at that time aged eighteen, was returning home after a day out. Almost night time, the girl rushed towards her home, but something bright caught her eye. By the corner of an alleyway, Katherine stumbled upon what seemed to be a glass vial, containing some sort of liquid. Curiously, the girl picked it up and stared in fascination. It wasn't black. It wasn't white. It wasn't any shade of gray. Was this what people called 'color'? Her father warned her against it; something about the deadly 'Color Syndrome'. She really couldn't believe how such an alluring thing could be so harmful at the same time. But this was such a rare chance...Mesmerized by its beauty, Katherine then made a decision: She took the vial and silently went her way back home.

Days went by, no one found out about the vial. Katherine, knowing what her family's reaction would be, hid the vial well inside a box, deep into her room. But she felt guilty for not telling her dearest brother and sister about it; they would tell each other everything and this wasn't an exception. So one weekend, when their parents were out, she decided to show them her 'treasure' and make both swear they wouldn't tell the adults. She was nervous. How would they react, really?...Just as she left the room to meet her siblings, the girl's anxiety reached its peak when she fell on the floor, dropping the vial in the process. As she didn't let go of it on time, the glass shards painfully pierced the palm of her hands and so did the liquid, initially inside the vial. Soon enough, her brother and sister, although shocked by the scene, came to her aid. They picked up the shards, unaware that minuscule fragments penetrated into their skin as well.

It didn't take long before the disease's symptoms began to show on the three siblings. The adults despaired; they didn't want their precious children to die. While laying sick on her bed, Katherine felt it was all her fault, yet her siblings didn't mention a thing of what happened to their parents and kept telling her otherwise.

The first one to fall was the eldest sister, aged twenty-eight. After her death, the family began isolating itself, the parents only going out to fetch medicine or food. Their father even stopped working to look after them.

Katherine's brother, being in pain, still gave a smile and often told the girl stories about a certain group of gangs around the city, and word had it that they were infected with color. But it didn't last long, as he succumbed to the illness just at the age of twenty-six.

Rumors began spreading around the neighborhood. The family's sudden isolation and 'disappearance' of the siblings was too suspicious for them, so they started questioning everything the family did at their house. Katherine's best friend was one of the few that refused to believe something was wrong with them, until she visited the family and Katherine told her the truth.

"I-I'm sorry...But I'm scared."

Katherine's parents no longer smiled. They were desperate. They were miserable in the girl's eyes. She couldn't take it any more.

Once the symptoms subdued, she took her belongings and ran from home. But some of the neighbors saw her and started chasing after her, demanding answers. When she could no longer run and was about to give up, her friend came to her and helped her escape, diverting the crowd's attention.

"This is the least I can do."

Days after that, Katherine's search for the rumored 'Kaleidoscope' began, hoping that once she found them, she'd be able to lead a new life with people who suffered the same fate.

✼She has an odd fascination towards marbles, so much she actually has a collection of them. She also likes asking random people around the gangs (whose colors she finds cool) to hold onto them for three days so they can get 'infected' and change color.//slapped
