VERY IMPORTANT COMIC!

A short time before the beginning of Leon's 8th grade year (and Tristan's 9th grade year), Tristan grew weary of hiding his intelligence. He also didn't want Leon to continue to hide his as well. Leon wasn't excited about the prospect, but he agreed to at least try. 

Leon doesn't try very hard in school (evidenced in Comic 46 by his report card on the fridge and Comic 126). Tristan is a huge scatterbrain who can't pay attention. Together, their work in school has been poor, and even after it's revealed that Leon and Tristan are actually super smart, you find out they don't DO much about it besides sit around and talk about ideas and stuff. 

Tristan wants to do more than that. 

He's no longer buying Leon's excuse about fearing being manipulated by people wanting to use his intelligence. He wants the both of them to make an actual difference in the world. Perhaps someday, they will. But Leon's got quite the hill to work up...

Phew! It has been a LONG time since we last saw Tristan. I'm working on making him more bulky (I swear it's muscle). I'm very glad with how this comic turned out. When originally coming up with the idea for it, I was worried it was going to be lots of standing around back and forth speech, but I'm proud of how I managed to actually vary things up and include some backgrounds and perspective. Which is something that should just be expected, I know, but still...

Leon: ... Personally, I'm excited for 8th grade. It's about time I ruled the school. Plus you made 8th grade sound like it was the best!
Tristan, is something up? Are you worried about starting high school?
Tristan: No, it's not that. It's something else I've been thinking about. 
Leon: What?
Tristan: Leon, I think it's about time we stop hiding our intelligence! We've got so much potential and it's going to waste! I know you're worried about being exploited or whatever, but that's going to happen whether people think you're an idiot or a genius! 
Leon: Whoa, dude, where is this coming from?
Tristan: It's just... I hate that all we do with our minds is wax philosophical but do nothing practical! 
Leon: I... guess you do have a point.
Tristan: Let's agree right now to at least try to takes things a little more seriously? You want to make the world a better place, don't you?
Leon: ...
*tap*
Leon: *sigh* I can't promise that I'll change overnight but... I suppose I'll have to be honest about it eventually. Might as well start now...
Tristan: Thanks, Leon. Sorry for dropping all of this on you at once. 
Leon: No big deal. I can't really argue with you...
... It is gonna suck having to actually try on school-work though. 
Tristan: It's gonna suck for me trying to not lose mine in the first place. We'll live.
