Story: The shiny new trailer pulled up the long driveway. Heather sat in the passenger seat, looking around at the rolling hills scattered with giant oak trees. A nervous smile tugged at her cheeks. For only her mares second show, this one had stiff competition. She was going to be running against Gizmo, and just the thought of it made her thoughts turn over.
"Hey! Heather?" Josh was poking her arm. "We're here, are you going to unload Sox or sit there and daydream all day?" He chuckled. He knew how nervous Heather was, but he couldn't avoid teasing her. "I know it's pretty here, but I'm ninety-nine percent sure your mare is getting tired of that big box."
Heather nodded, feeling the truck rock slightly as the anxious mare pawed in the trailer. She hopped out of the truck and opened the door, letting the mare step slowly out. She grabbed the lead rope and tugged at it, getting the big mare's attention. "C'mon girl. We can rock this thing."

Soon enough, they were waiting by the in-gate, watching the other competitors run fast and clean patterns. Sox wasn't the fastest, but she could turn tighter than any other horse out there, and she knew it. The announcer called them up, and Heather rode into the arena, making a small circle at the trot before nudging her mount into a canter. Sox sprung forward, and by the time they passed the timer she was at a gallop. Heather smiled, knowing she could only do her best from here.
