I've been in a negative place these past couple of weeks because of the way life has been turning out in terms of health and life issues. But, I've been trying to outweigh the negative with the positive, show love and appreciation to people, give thanks to those who have helped me, and simply be grateful for all the good things in my life that make it possible for me to get through rough times. Anyways, TL;DR: this journal is just about saying a few words about the people I appreciate. At the end I'll be tagging people to do the same, because we should spread the love

This guy kinda has to come first (I guess
). He talks to me everyday, checks in on me, listens to my crap, tells me his, and tries to make me feel better and whatnot. For those of you who don't know Carlos, well, you should. He's pretty damn awesome. You'll find him in #devart pretty much all the time, and also in the forums. He's my go-to person for both of those, the person I discuss projects relating to them with, the person that helps me out whenever I need. So yeah, yay for Carlos. (And NO we are not dating, I can already hear what you're saying to yourself Astralseed

Katy is a badass woman. I'm glad I've gotten to know her a little better as of late. Chances are you've seen her around DA, because she has done so much for the community. She used to be a CV, and before during and after that she has been such an important presence on the site. I have to say thank you to her for always being supportive, understanding, and incredibly helpful. And I know many others feel the exact same way. If you love horses, she's your girl! Steve has supported me ever since I first started using DA. Few things are greater than to stay in touch with someone for so long, and to share art and experiences over the years. Steve is yet another incredibly supportive, helpful and understanding person. If you ever need something, he'll do whatever he can. He'll always be on the lookout for artists to watch, art to be commented or critiqued, and for many other ways to support our community. Thanks for everything, as always, Steve
Anyone in the photography and chat/forum communities knows and loves 3wyl. She was an incredible mentor to have when transitioning into covering General Photography, and she was an incredible teammate to have for the majority of my time as a CV. I always ran ideas past her, I knew I could always count on her to be honest with me, and help me if she could. 3wyl is simply brilliant, and I have to thank her for being such an important part of my growth here on DA.
Danie is the woman that made everything happen. She brought me onto a team of amazing people, that I will always be grateful for having had the chance to work with and get to know. As many have said and will continue to say, Danie is a superwoman, she is truly incredible. I don't think any of us have an actual idea of just how much she does for DA. Like seriously, I'm pretty sure it's way more than any of us might imagine
and on top of all that, she's an incredible friend to have. I don't think you could find anyone more patient and understanding than her. Plus she's also pretty damn funny, and adorable. So yeah, go talk to her, thank her, send her some love, an awesome recipe, or some random cute gifs of puppies or kittens, I don't know, she'll appreciate it all either way.
I work with Katy on DA through projecteducate and General Photography which we lead together, and I've got to say it's been a great experience. You never really know how things are going to work out when you have to work with other people, but Katy and I just get each other. I didn't always think that would be the case, but we hit it off. She's my go-to person in terms of the majority of what I do here on DA, I run ideas past her, we collaborate on things together, we vent to each other, we support each other as much as we can. I skype her in my sleep regularly to the point where I think I know when she wakes up every day

Mark is one of the strangest people I've met. Okay no, not really, I've met some fucking weird people in my life, and by weird I mean bat-shit crazy. But okay this is starting to paint him in a weird light, so let's re-route. Mark is hilarious, brilliant, fun, did I mention hilarious? You'll find him all over DA, doing what he does best, being supportive in some of the most unique ways imaginable. He's one of the most approachable people ever, so go go go, leave him a comment with weird shit, funny gifs, suggestions about his hair-do's, tell him to change his bloody avatar, oh and laugh at him for being Canadian and bastardizing my beautiful language.
Nyx is like a weird soul-mate, twin, wifey. Sometimes I feel like we're the exact same person....until I realize she loves cats. I don't think I'd ever come across someone as obsessed with soviet history as me, ever, aside from my soviet history professors
. When I first became a CV, I was helping cover art nude at her side, and she taught me the ropes, or is it showed me the ropes? I dunno, whatever rope expression. She helped me through the process of getting used to being a gallery mod, and getting used to peoples' disdain for art nude photography. She's a badass woman, seriously. Go send her some love, show her things with glitter, she loves it . She also makes the freaking best marshmallows evar, and is also a badass designer!
Houman is such a positive person, it's incredible! He is full of love, like, seriously. He will brighten your day without even knowing it, he is just a ball of sunshine. I can't even remember how I first met him on DA, but it surely has been one of the greatest things for me on this site to get to know him. Go check out his photography, talk to him about street photog, hell talk to him about any type of photography, he's so passionate about it all, you'll find a supportive friend in him, and will always be grateful to have met him.
Sylwia is fucking amazing. She's funny, sweet, hilarious, adorable, badass, supportive, she's the whole package. She's also a freaking brilliant artist, like really, you NEED to go check out her gallery. You also need to take a look at the Daily Deviations she features because they are all incredible. I'm thankful that I took the time to know her a little better, and that I know she'll always be there for me to send random shit to, to vent to, and to have gif wars with. Even though I've been failing, I know! But here you go:

. She cracks me up on a regular basis without even knowing it through her comments in the forums, her posts, and just her being her. You're brilliant, and I just needed to tell you that once again

Jen reminds me of myself sometimes, cause she's all over the place trying to be as engaged as possible in the community. And I feel the same way sometimes, jumping into all the projects, all the groups, all the anything I can lay my hands on that I feel passionate about and that I feel needs to be done for the community. Jen is an important part of the DA community, through chats, forums, and the photography gallery. She delves into all of those, and puts love into everything she does. She's a fun person to be around and to know. Go say hi to her! She'll start up a convo with you in a matter of seconds, and you'll fall in love with just how great she is.
Jade is one of the first people on the CV team I clicked with, as we worked on projects for DA's birthday together with the team, right after I had joined. I instantly knew I could run any idea past her, and have her support. I also knew I could trust her with anything, and that she would always do her best to listen to me and help me if she could. Jade is a busy lazy, she's got a lot going on, she's incredibly smart and driven. She's also incredibly sweet and fun. You'll find her helping the Digital Art gallery and running many groups to support various causes, communities, and aspects of DA in addition to creating awesome art. Go check out what she's been up to lately, the groups she's been running, and just send her some love, because she's always giving it to the community!
Denise is yet another rockstar deviant, who is always looking for more ways to get involved in the community. She's caring, supportive, driven, and incredibly enthusiastic! You must check out the regular interviews and features she posts, along with all the other contributions she makes, in addition to her own art!
