Random fact of the day: Yes! Coraline wasn't directed nor written by Tim Burton, unlike many people think. The movie is an adaptation from a book by Neil Gaiman.
This misconception is understandable probably due the stop animation technique used in the movie, and the dark, macabre (yet cute) themes and overall appearance, similar to the ones of many of Burton's animated movies. Another reason could be the fact the movie poster says "From the Director of The Nightmare Before Christmas"... but TNBC wasn't directed by Tim Burton either, both these movies were directed by Henry Selick.
