based on the tale of the red shoes, Karen has a beautiful pair of red dancing shoes, she falls in love with a soldier, and because of her pride is forced to dance day and night with no rest, it isn't until her feet are chopped off is she able to stop dancing, yet her amputated feet still dance in the cursed shoes even after Karens death.
