Extremely forgetful, despite his young age, Pyr dislikes his wayward mind quite a bit in that regard, however, rarely stops daydreaming and is constantly moving, be it physically or mentally, learning new things or exploring new areas. As a result of his absentmindedness, he tends to get into scrapes quite a bit.....and gets lost all too often.
He needs a fireproof nursemaid >.>

Tends to expect perfection with everything around him and is extremely particular about what his magic does. As a result, he has quite a bit of control over his own power, which is a good thing, since he controls fire in a wooded area, right? Can get a bit overbearing, however, when he attempts to teach others, due to this tic. Generally, he doesn't teach all too much. He forgets he has a class too often <.<

He is still young for a volcquine, and as such, has gotten into too many scrapes he couldn't talk his way out of. He often leaps before he looks, but will not back down from a fight, even if he knows he won't win. Very much a dreamer, but a very passionate one. He clings to those attachments he does make as if his very life were at stake.
That's different from standing when he knows he's wrong. He is too willing to admit he's wrong and tends to not think of himself in most situations.

Appearance:

Ruddy red fur shading into darker colors along his back and orange along his belly. Snip of white along his nose and at the tip of his tail. Mane and tail are black while spikes are gold like his eyes.

Scars:

left eye is partially blind from an outcast encounter; Pyr tends to turn his head more to look at others through his good eye, though he can still see out of his left

slight limp from when he was a foal, doesn't really affect his running or agility.
Accessories:

Small, tattered vest with various found items Pyr has collected attached to it in a seemingly haphazard way; a few small stones, each carved with a symbol only Pyr understands that describe important points in his life; several ragged feathers from his mother's and bits of bone from a few of his kills are tied carefully in the twine. Pyr also has a small bits of twine and feathers wrapped around his tail, a sort of memory of his dam.

Badly burned and wilted leather hat, extremely floppy, but Pyr is extremely protective of the battered hat. It once belonged to the once-lover's father and Pyr can't let it out of his sight and goes nuts if he ever finds it gone.

History:

When he was barely weaned, Pyr lost his mother to a rabid predator. He wandered the forest, lost, alone and hunted, barely able to stay one hoofstep ahead of the predators. He was found by the Alderthorn pack and looked enough like his father that they were able to confirm his identity. Such an early loss, however, has scarred Pyr for many years and he remained aloof and anti-social during his training and rearing, barely acknowledging his sire (still doubting it was his sire, due to no proof but pelt color). As time went on, however, his father began abusing him in some twisted from of affection in an effort to 'train' his son to become a warrior. When Pyr reached puberty, his sire gave up on him, all but throwing him out in an attempt to make the volcquine grow up. Unfortunately, all this did was cause Pyr to turn further inward, becoming a near recluse and hermit, living on the edges of the herd.

A few years later, he found a young mare who seemed to like him and would come visit him every so often. Just as Pyr was beginning to return her care and love, her sire found out and attacked him. Pyr responded immediately, defending himself as best he could...and his soul fire shot off sparks, nearly causing a forestfire. Luckily, he didn't have enough magic to do any lasting damage to the forest, but unfortunately for Pyr, it was too late to save the source of his destruction. His lover's sire inhaled the violent blue smoke, scorching his lungs too badly. The mare, horrified by what had happened, repudiated him in her misery. Pyr moved away, turning ever further inward after he found her at the bottom of a ravine, dead. He has since become outwardly hollow, very particular and extremely aggressive, despite his young age.

Pyr often wandered the Alderthorn's territory in his free time, getting lost, but being at relative peace when he was alone and exploring. Every so often, when he came back to the pack's home, he would inform his superiors of any new finds or locations, so they allowed Pyr to continue wandering. With him getting lost, however, he'd be gone for days, if not weeks at a time. However, much of Pyr's time alone, he would practice his magic, forcing himself to fine-tune it and control the destructive power that had destroyed his only chance at life.
