Veeko paused at the entrance to the medicine glade, watching as his mate, Atani, sorted through herbs with her dexterous claws. It was a simple task, one she did often, yet he never tired of seeing her doing it. Or of her in general, really.
“You know that you don’t need my permission to come in,” she commented good-humoredly, without looking up.
“Well, it’s best to be courteous, is it not?” He smirked for a moment, then grew serious and turned his attention towards Atani’s singular patient. “Will he be alright?”
“I… I’m not certain,” she replied, pausing in her work. “The injuries he has are severe, not to mention the illness and malnutrition… I’ve never seen anyone in so sorry a state.”
“With your care, I’m sure he has a fair chance,” Veeko assured her, sidling closer. Glancing at the unconscious dinosaur again, he added, “I’ve never seen a velociraptor that color before. Have you?”
Atani shook her head, feathers ruffling. “I didn’t know there could be raptors that weren’t blue like us. Green scales, poor health; he seems so different from us already, and we haven’t even really met him yet. I wonder what other ways he contrasts what we know.”
“I suppose we’ll just have to wait and see.”

See? I told you there'd be make-up entries! These two are really old characters, just like R.B. and his as-of-yet unnamed partner. The velociraptor design for the story probably needs refining, but I love 'em anyway. I used the prompt "Suddenly, dinosaurs! They're very polite."
