Knock, knock.
"Ugh, what the fuck..." Sokudo grumbles irritably as he stirs from his bed. Glaring at the time, he sees that it's about 11pm, a mere two hours since he's dozed off. Stretching with a yawn, he waits to see if the knock will happen again as he attempts to wipe the sleep from his eyes. Indeed it does, only slightly louder than before and he waits again, this time for his brother's inevitable response.
There is none.
Surprised for a second, he then remembers that Kowai's out looking for Grimerfly; seems like he'll have to make the effort to 'greet' the unexpected visitor himself...
Opening his wings, he sluggishly flies towards the front door, mumbling under his breath. Honestly, why do people keep knocking on his door lately? Do they HAVE a deathwish? And what the fuck made his house so appealing to approach in the first place? The lights are off and his new door-mat even said "FUCK OFF", capital letters and all. Hell, he can probably have machine guns mounted on his sprinkler system and people would still come knocking...
As he wonders how to go about procuring said machine guns for his sprinkler system, he reaches out his claw to open the door.
"Dafuq you want?" are the first words that escape his mandibles before he hesitates. A giant red THING was in front of him. A mushroom? A bug? "Um...."
The mushroom insect says nothing, does nothing to acknowledge his statement; just staring at him unfalteringly with dull white eyes. A small chill goes down Sokudo's back, uneasy at the blank expression. At least Kowai can manipulate its mist to reflect light from its empty sockets and give the illusion of glistening puppy-eyes. Here, there's no glisten, no spark. Just nothing.
Clearing his throat softly, Sokudo hides his troubled feelings behind a glare, a soft hiss integrating into his words. "Again: Dafuq do you want?"
The infected bug makes no response, at least not immediately. Only when Sokudo makes a move to close the door does the thing speak.
"E̸ggs̷..͜." it whispers in a husky voice that's as empty as its eyes. "҉Para͏s̨ ͏e̛gg̵s.͠..̷.͝ I'm͏ ̴lo̕o̢k̀in͝g f͢ór̷ ̨Par̕as eg̡gs..."
"Er..." Sokudo responds, barely managing to make out the words. Is this thing asking him for food, or is it asking if he's seen its missing eggs? Regardless, he shakes his head. "Yeah, I haven't seen any 'Paras eggs'. Sorry. Now you can fuck off."
He starts to close the door when the thing's claw shoots forward and digs itself into his door's threshold, stopping the door and keeping him from dismissing it so easily. Sokudo hesitates at this before his glare hardens, growling at this threatening action. He's not sure what the deal is, but he's ready to fight at an instant's notice, his claws twitching almost eagerly. The thing doesn't seem fazed by any of this though, its dead eyes boring into him.
"̴S̸p̶or̵es͞ foŕ ̸the̡ eggs̕..҉. ͠I͜ ̶ne͝ed ̴Paras ̕èggs҉.̵.. I̛ ͜n͞ee̕d a ̧new͏ h͢ós͝t..̴." it continues to whisper, Sokudo putting effort into trying to understand what the hell it's going on about. It stares at him a moment longer, before finally a note of menace enters its voice. "I͜f I̛ g̸e̡t n̷o̵ ̵e͠ggs.̷.̧.͘" The thing trails off and tilts its head slowly, a sickening cracking sound coming from it as it does. "I͞s͜ ̵i͟t͠ t͡óo l̢ate͝ ̷fo̴r͡ ͏y̡ou.̵..̴ m҉y͘ f̡e͏llow͝ ͡ci͢cad͞a̧.̵..̴?́"
Yeah, Sokudo's had enough of this bullshit. Slashing the other bug's claw off the threshold, he slams the door in the creature's face. Turning away, he finally gives a shudder as he starts heading back to bed. And as he looks over his shoulder towards the window, he sees the creature in plain view, farther away, but still facing his house. As if waiting.
"Creepy-ass little motherfucker..."
For once, in the very back of his mind, the tiniest part of him hopes Kowai will back home soon...
