Benjamin Barnes had woken up early that morning and after his morning coffee and a breakfast of dried meat and biscuits; which he shared with Everest, the pair had set off up the mountain to gather more research about the wild dires on the Tartok mountains. He hadn't gotten very far when he and Everest bumped into the most remarkable young woman. She seemed to be native American of some type but she had bright blue eyes and perhaps the most unique thing about her appearance was that her skin was splotchy. She was riding a standard built tokota that was mostly white with a few large tan spots, one on it's face and head and the other on it's back. They were definitely a sight to behold that was for sure. Benjamin made sure to keep himself in check and not stare. 

"Good morning m'am." He said to her sweetly, "My name is Benjamin and this is Everest." he said petting Everest on the neck. It was when he tipped his hat to her that he noticed something odd. Was that a broom tied to the side of her saddle? Suddenly the broom went from the side of her saddle and into the woman's hands in an instant and before he could figure out what was going on she wacked him over the head with it. "SSSSHHHHHH!!" She screeched at him in a whisper then she pointed out ahead.

"Ouch!" he exclaimed and then when she shushed him and pointed his eyes followed in the direction she was pointing and he could just barely make out some figures off in the distance. Still rubbing his head, Benjamin reached for his binoculars, when he put them to his eyes and looked through them he could finally see what the crazy broom wielding woman was pointing at. There on a hill were two tokotas; dires from the looks of it and one of them was the white sphinx dire he had seen the other day. The other dire was of Everest's build but it had brown, tan and black merle markings. Benjamin couldn't believe that they had located the dires again. Perhaps they were intrigued by Everest and the fact that she was also a dire? Hopefully his luck in finding them when he set out to do research would be this good each time from now on. The first several days on the mountain were harsh and he hadn't seen a single dire until at least his 3rd day or so.

Benjamin allowed himself to look over to the woman again, hoping that she didn't catch him looking at her and beat him with her broom again. What was she thinking? Was she also taking down research and observation information for the research teams just like he was? He then turned his gaze down to his research journal and began writing about what he and Everest were seeing and where on the mountain they had located the dire pair this morning.
