Me and Adam Jacobs!

Description

Sorry for the delay about NYC pictures, our main computer's been going weird. I'm skipping ahead for one of the best parts: seeing Aladdin.

How was it? Fantastic. The music/songs (both old & new) were great to hear, the adding of Howard Ashman's original drafts was a nice touch, the acting spot-on & the production was goregous to look at. Only nitpik was unfortunately, Jonathan Freeman wasn't there as Jafar. However, there were two big advantages.

The way me & my sister got our tickets was through a lotery. You seriously had to be there when they were called. We both signed up selecting two tickets, in case one of us won & the other didn't win. When the time came, after about 5 names, Grace's name was called. Literally, IMMEDIATLEY AFTER HER, MY name was called! It's almost as if they didn't really jumble up the tickets! Talk about amazing luck!
The other great adventage was because this was the show that had their millionth audience member! (it wasn't us) After the curtain call, they mentioned it, showed her in the crowd, thanked her & gave her a trip to Italy, Tuscani and her own Villa! The whole thing was filmed & made the experience even more special. (It's hard to explain why)

After the show, I was able to get to the stagedoor, meet some of the cast members, they signed my playbill & get some shots. I had before drawn out the 5 main characters (Al, Jasmine, Genie, Jafar & Iago) as their roles... but I forget tot bring them with me for the show. At least I got to meet them, so things can't be that bad.

To start cast pictures off, here I am with the main star of the show, Aladdin himself: Adam Jacobs. How was he? I think he managed to pull of Aladdin's humbleness & almost-cocky side. He seemed more refretful & his quest to redeem himself for his dead mother made the character stronger. I almost got teary-eyed with his rendition of Proud of Your Boy. On a side note, my high school once did Aladdin & Lion King (not in the same year). The guy who played Aladdin in that production, later played adult Simba. & Adam did a reverse! He was a Simba understudy & now he's Al! What a strange coincidence.
