Invocation

I like the contrasting design of these two characters. We have a female figure with long white hair and pallid skin, wearing light coloured robes, and a male figure with black hair and grey skin, wearing dark coloured hooded robes and armour. Gives some Yin-Yang vibes.

There's a lot interesting subtle details featured here. For example, the woman having symbols inscribed onto her arm. The red colour and bandages over the wrist makes me wonder if she might have carved them directly onto her skin, rather than scribbling or tattooing them. She is also holding two items. In one hand, a dagger with a characteristic undulating blade, somewhat akin to that of a Flamberge or a Moro Kris. In the other, a book of some kind, perhaps a spellbook. These seem like they are either ritual items or weapons, maybe both. The male figure has a faint purple eminence emerging from his back. It sort of looks like a pair of wings, giving the me impression of a sort of Dark Angel. The description implies that the woman is being "seduced" by him. The man is touching her face with his right hand, grinning in an almost romantic gesture, but I wonder if there is a mutual sentiment here. The woman has a rather neutral facial expression, as though in some form of trance. The man interestingly also has his glove removed from his right hand, revealing it to be kind of burnt looking with some sort of magic running down his arm. I have a feeling he has more sinister intentions, and the woman is not herself here.

And then we have the environment. A dark colourless landscape marked by these unusual structures, such as these poles topped off with crescents. If we look in between the two characters, we can see what look like headstones. Some stones also have a shape reminiscent of a sword imprinted into them. If I were to guess, this seems to be a battlefield turned into a graveyard. The sky is mostly overcast, but the sun is just peering through, however the clouds are seeping in as if some force is actively trying to block it out. It's quite an eerie atmosphere.

Anyway. Nice work! This is such a beautiful piece, and I'm surprised it received as little attention as it did.
