Welcome to the Falconrise Castle!

This old castle was built in the late 12th century and now it's an equestrian center for high level eventing and cross country horses, an international trekking station for trail riding, trekking and endurance races and the breeding center for Uoredos Horses. There are also a few dressage and show jumping horses.

We own a couple of experienced and successful stallions, high-class mares, promising youngsters and a herd of traditional Uoredos.

This property is located in the northwest of Scotland, based at a loch, surrounded by natural mountains, forest, marshland and grassland.

Our main breeds are Trakehners and Uoredos.
But don't be shy and take a look at our other horses, we also own a few others: Zlesdin, Hanoverian and Warmblood Crosses.

The castle was built in the late 12th century and the first official proof is an old ownership paper from 1287, signed by Clan Chief Alan Morrison. In this time, only the castle ceep, the great hall and the first small wall existed. In the next years it was constantly expanded by the local clan chiefs, first they added the stables and later the second main building.
During the invasion of the english folk the castle got under the control of commander Jacob
Grantham who built the forecourt and created the today's look.
Later in history the castle fell back into the hands of another scottish clan which unfortunately got
extinguished in the latest revolutionary war.
From that time, the castle was uninhabited and fell into ruin in the next decades of time.
In the late 18th century, the castle got
discovered by Ian Mackenzie, a member of the old scottish aristocracy.
In the next centuries he and his family totally restored the buildings and gardens and his Son, Gregor Mackenzie was the first person who started breeding the old traditional Uoredos Horse and turned the castle into a stable.
Since then, the castle was constantly owned by the Mackenzie Family.

I do not guarantee historical or architectural correctness.
I just picked everything I liked and put it together.

I think CookieTroll said it best.  An equestrian facility based in a Scottish castle? Yes please!  Everything about this is awesome!
