A History Of Ben And Winslow

This cartoon is educational. To elaborate:

1998: Ben and Winslow are created. They are nothing more than stick figures, where Ben tries to get a conversation going, but can't because Winslow's always saying something completely random from panel to panel.

1999: I try to make Ben and Winslow less stick figure-like. I pump their bodies full of animal fat, inflate their heads with compressed air, and shave off the excess bits with lasers. The result is this: www.deviantart.com/deviation/1…

2000-'02: While in college, I draw Ben and Winslow in any area not taken up by notes. Since I'm a lazy bastard, that means I spent more time in class drawing cartoons than doing anything else. For example: www.deviantart.com/deviation/1…

2002-'03: Ben and Winslow get their image refined a bit for the local independant newspaper. By "refined" I mean, "made their eyes big ovals." After appearing in the newspaper once, the editors decided that they wanted it to be different because comics about a guy cleaving out portions of his face with a pie server to look more like Pac-Man were "too cutesy."

2004-Present: Color's been added, and Winslow is often seen carrying around sharp objects.

And that's how I learned my lesson.
