[Update: I realized this was horribly out of date... due to cost of living and now doing this as my full time job, rates and billing have changed, so this needed a rewrite.]
I receive a fair amount of inquiries from people who have little idea what to expect as far as my rates so I thought it would be a good time to put together a rough guide to the way I price things at the moment.
For all work I now use a rate of $25 per hour. I always ask for half the estimate up front as an advance, and then once the work is completed I calculate the total time spent and bill the difference upon delivery of the final, high-resolution piece. I always include a round of revisions in my estimates, typically during the sketch phase when everything is being laid out and it is quicker and cheaper to make large fixes to the image. I will often check in during the process with low resolution version of the work in progress image for any small issues but any additional large changes will add to the final price! As of this moment I only work Digitally and the final piece will consist of a full resolution TIF (or other if requested).
Single character illustrations sans background will usually take about 8+ hours (minimum $200) and full page illustrations will most always take 20+ hours (minimum $500). These will both vary widely so for more detailed quotes feel free to get in touch!
In addition to the above cost there is a fee for anything that is intended for publication or use in a licensed product. The standard licensing is for a year of use or one print run, anything longer than that or even full ownership will cost more.
For billing I use paypal for the simple ease of use it provides. If that doesn't work for you for some reason we can try to work something out but I rarely use anything else. If paypal is used I do add a small fee to cover the cut they take (2.9% + $0.30).
If you have any questions or would like further information feel free to drop me a note through DA, or you can more reliably reach me at GEillustration@gmail.com.
Thanks all,
-Graey Erb

Archiving the Gallery
Hello everyone, As a result of some recent art theft for the purposes of NFT minting, I am archiving my gallery here till further notice. I hope one day that I can pull it all out again but until that time I don't have the time or energy to fight every listing. In case there was any doubt, I have not nor ever plan to mint an NFT, if you see my work attached to anything it was done without my knowledge or consent, feel free to report that nonsense. If you are one of the people who routinely reach out in the hopes of collaborating on NFT work, I am not interested... please do not contact me. To everyone else, thanks for sticking around and checking out my work for these past years. Even though I have basically abandoned DA as a gallery I am always surprised and pleased that people still find and fav it all these years later. Stay cool Deviants, I hope to see you again soon. -G
Prints!
Hello all!
I've finally gotten around to setting up a small print shop over on fineartamerica. There isn't a ton up at the moment (more planned soon!) but there are plans for more. At the moment I would prefer to keep a tight ship over there rather than spamming you lovely folks with a million images.
As far as planned content I have coming up there is:
-Two more pieces in the Stone Halos series, Air and Earth. These were all designed to be about 18 x 24 so should make pretty good large scale prints if that's your jam, if these get a good response I might continue along these lines with some similar pieces (probably new series though...)
Commissions open!
Howdy all! I am currently wrapping up a pretty large project (some pieces of which I will be putting up in the next few days!) so I am opening up a few commission slots! If you are interested in getting some pieces from me feel free to shoot me a note or email me at GEillustration@gmail.com. (email is probably better as I don't always check my DA notes) Will update this again when they are full.
Also, I wrote up a general pricing guide! This isn't going to give you an exact number but it is a good starting point of what to expect. You can check it out here: Commission Info and General Pricing Guide
Thanks all!
Commissions Closed!
Hello all! Sorry for the radio silence lately, just wanted to give a quick update to let you all know that I am currently working on a rather large set of pieces (more on that later), so commissions are going to be closed for a while. I will be sure to update my page when they are open again, so watch this space!
