A/N: I always imagined that if you decline Leliana from joining your party for being unsure of the Chantry sister's use in battle that she would tail you and try to prove herself by aiding in another battle... anyway enough from me... on with the story~

They made their numbers hidden, blending well with the nature surround them and sheathed in shadows. A murder of Antivan Crows lie in wait. Zevran smirked. Murder, yes, that is exactly what the Crows would bring to this unfortunate individual. He cared not for what this human had done only that he was apparently an enemy and traitor to the King.

The ambush was set in motion.

A group of 4; a rouge, a warrior, a Mage, and a large dark hound followed in behind the 'bait' that claimed her wagon was under attack. The bigger of the two men was assumed to be the target by going off the description given to the Assassin.

"Trap, Right ahead!" a female voice came from... somewhere in the trees. Zevran moved his hand towards the left of two the large daggers on his back, a signal for the path out to be blocked. Ropes holding the tree up were severed, sending it slamming down. Zevran let out a low growl. Annoyed not only at the lost of his opportunity to have the first word, but also the target and his companions managed to jump out of the way.

"The Grey Warden dies here!" Zevran shouted and charged towards the group using the dust cloud as cover before it settled.

A blade collided with the assassin's incoming dagger, blocking the attack. Quick, must be a rouge.

The battle raged on around the two rouges. Swords and shields clashed, arrows and magic wizzed by overhead.

Both playing dirty using sneak and attempting to land back-stab attacks. The two men were a flurry of movement trying to block and out-manoeuvre the opponent.

Sweat made the Warden's dark hair cling to his scalp. He ducked under an attack, using the opportunity and momentum to slice his cold elemental dagger across the lower leg of the Assassin.

Frost wrapped around the Assassin's ankle and spead up to the elf's knees slowing his movements just enough for the Warden to strike with the pommel of his weapon.

He knew not how much time had passed but it was quiet and it was assumed the battle was done. Zevran slowly opened his eyes. Relief threatened to bubble up, perhaps the target and his companions had assumed him dead- no, the Warden was right there looking down at him. He groaned "I rather thought I would wake up dead. Or not wake up at all, as the case may be. But I see you haven't killed me yet...."

After some interrogating and information exchange with the Warden, the dark haired man decided he would allow him to live (much to the dismay of the companions, the canine even shook it's giant head at its master's words) "You had me at 'warm my bed'" he joked, offering a hand to help the elf to his feet. . "Welcome to our merry band of misfits" The Warden smiled.

So I am to be allied with the Grey Warden? This is not how I imagined my day going....
Day 292 - I didn't feel much like drawing and I saw a murder of crows and my brain thought of Dragon Age and so I began typing this out in sta.sh on my phone.

Note: For those of you that haven't played Origins in a long time, or didn't follow the conversation line I did. Pretty much Zevran offers his services of stealth, lock picking, poison and 'warming' of the bed and/or fighting of potential suitors...

I haven't wrote anything substantial in about 5-6 months so sorry if it's a bit rusty and not that great.

lol 'You had me at 'warm my bed' cracks me up. XD

I am always fond of that first conversation. Zev is hilarious (one of the reasons I sit and watch my sister play sometimes, that way I can be a second set of eyes and I get to laugh at all of the conversations). I like how you drew in how a flock of crows is called a murder. Quite fitting for a clan of assassins. :3
