Emblazed Wasteland

In case you wonder what this odd tower could be made of: You will only find out, if you follow that road!

Even ruinations can look pretty if illuminated by odd tree-like structures which are glowing in an unnatural colour. Okay, perhaps that's a bit creepy rather than pretty for some, after all it's unnatural. But why are only some of these structures glowing?
I can't really tell you, I don't know any more than you do.


But I know for sure this was made with GIMP on Xubuntu.

It started off as a speedpainting but then I got lost in details and... well. Here it is.
Not much to say about this other than that it was inspired by my preceeding landscape picture "Rift", mostly the atmosphere and the "something strange is going on" aspect of it. I had a lot of fun while drawing this.
